The problem with having OCs is that sometimes you wanna read about your little guy being in situations but unfortunately he is YOUR little guy and no one is gonna put him in that situation but you. Tragic.

I bet someday they will invent a way to talk about ocs that doesn't feel like I'm holding everyone around me hostage. Smiles. I bet they will.

being obsessed with your own ocs is its own kind of torment nexus. "i miss them so much :(((" and they're literally in your brain.

"aw man there's not fanart of them" and "i want to read fics about them" and "why isn't anyone talking about them" because you gotta do it all by yourself 🫩

There's nothing worse than when the concept for a piece of media feels like it was tailor-made for you in a lab but then you actually watch/read it and it turns out to be dreadful. The betrayal. The utterly dashed hopes. The annoyance that now you can't even write a good version of the concept because then everyone will go "Oh just like X!" and you will have to Bite them.
