i personally felt a portion of her fan base is like if you ain’t with her than your automatically against her. then they question if you’re truly a feminist or if you have underlying prejudices against other poc if you aren’t in alignment with them.

it’s not just her i feel like this about. like i dislike that del rey too because i dislike how infantile a portion of her fans make themselves seem with the overboard dd/lg cottage core themes. you say anything about it and everyone’s going for the eyes!

everyone likes to act like these celebrities represent a part of them (maybe they do). but they act like they have to defend them tooth and nail when in reality these people could give a shit about us. they go out of their way to make sure their lives are separate from ours. you see any celebrities living in your neighborhood? in your town? attending your schools? shopping your local grocery store? do you see them anywhere in your community?

have you ever befriended these people? do you know them personally? do you have a relationship with these people other than being their consumers? why do people put these people on a pedestal and get upset you aren’t doing the same?

and comparing her to lana del ray is sonfunny cause they are complete opposite. shes a white woman who does idk what like pop music who has had a lot of weird controversies and megan is a black woman writing rap?

i really like how you generalize everyone about celebrities, thinking everyone is going to be parasocial to these celebrities but it’s a certain type of people i was thinking of who don’t like megan and i fear you might be one of them with this random think piece i got a notif for in my phone

- i personally felt not wanting to be anywhere around the toxic parts of her fan base was a good reason not to like someone. like i said before: most fans are against you if you ain’t with them. it’s a weird for this person to tell me that my feelings aren’t valid because it’s a their fav celebrity.

- i used del rey as an example because she DOES make a different genre of music. but she still makes music just like meg the stallion. i understand that they don’t make the same music but i was calling attention to the weird parts of her fan base like i was with this celebrity.

- CELEBRITIES ARE NOT YOUR FRIEND! im sorry but i refuse to let you make me care about celebrities with the same intensity as you.

- if not putting celebrities on a pedestal makes me a shitty person than im ecstatic to wear that lil badge these die hard fans wanna give me !

- this reblog even expressed a theory on how their fav celeb acts. i wonder if they were speculating or if they are an actual person their celeb confides in? how can you vouch for someone you only know on a surface level?

- it goes to show my point on how some people have a hard time accepting that they have no real connection with these celebrities other than inspiration. but why do they always feel like it’s a personal attack? why do they have a hard time separating themselves from celebrities?
