literally ok so not a funny story but kind of funny? when I was nine I encountered rape in a book and I was like hey mom what’s this mean and she explained it and I was like oh. gross. and then like two weeks later a girl on the bus abruptly disclosed her csa and we were all like ????? what ???? but I was like wait hang on there’s a word for that ☝️🤓 and explained what it meant and that it was illegal and that you could talk to a teacher or my mom if it had happened to you and everyone was like ohhhhh I see I see and very somberly comforted the girl (she was safe she was removed from her home and living with my neighbor at the time so it wasn’t Urgent)

Someone asked me a while ago if I still had a photo of the worst sink I had ever seen while apartment hunting in Los Angeles. I assumed I deleted it so I didn't answer the ask and now it's gone, but as it turns out, yes, I do still have a photo of it.

#as someone who cleans for a living I can tell this would be a nightmare to clean

listen I love Fallout New Vegas as much as the next fan, but it always bothered me that Doc Mitchell gives the Courier, a perfect stranger, a Pip Boy. You know one of the most rare and useful bits of technology that exists in the world. The thing NPCs warn you about might get stolen in New Vegas because it's so sought after. And why? Because he takes pity on the Courier for getting shot in the head? I think his neighbors in Goodsprings experience similar hardships on a daily basis and he didn't chose to give any of them the Pip Boy.

It would've made more sense if the Courier had the Pip Boy from the start of the story, but Benny and his thugs didn't steal it because that's not what their job was (and further hint at the importance of the Platinum Chip if that's the only thing they stole, leaving behind a more obvious valuable like a Pip Boy).

It still would've left the Courier's backstory open to interpretation, if they have a Pip Boy because they did come from a vault or if they stole it or killed a vault dweller for it - all these things could be determined by the player.

But Doc Mitchell just giving the Courier a Pip Boy doesn't make sense.

#fallout new vegas #also wearing the vault suit he gives you felt phoney and I never liked putting my courier in it #to me lone wanderer is the only character who religious wears their vault suit because they grew up in it #sole survivor imo wants to quickly change out of it because they spent most of their time wearing it asleep and in their few waking moments #wearing it experienced their child stolen and their spouse killed so to me theyd want to get rid of it asap #but I can understand why doc mitchell would give the courier the vault suit #they need something to wear and the suit belonged to Docs wife who is gone and things don't go to waste in the wasteland #but again I don't think the courier would have a particular connection to the vault suit #anyway these are my thoughts dont be a clown
