Regulus/レグルス
A light to slice through the dark.
Wandering confused, the stars, drifting further on apart, are occluded by clouds. “If I leave alone these scars, maybe I won’t have to feel the sting” - I averted my eyes.
See the string, that misguidedly I let loosen; so it went. I’m repeating retying it, surer now than back then. “Now, I won’t let it go;” as I grabbed it, within my hand, it revealed to me, The sky I saw with you that night, hey…
I saw in that shooting star, such a light to slice through the dark; And if it shined into my eyes, I would know my way was true, so please, Regulus! On ou-r star o'first magnitude, the four of us are standing together, in place; And through the tumult of the wishes we sent, and toward the world without end, now, Fervid, further, further, forever ahead - we go!
When the maze of branching paths stopped me cold within my tracks, even then, at that time, “Because we’re together, we will be alright;” you were by me to tell me that. So to cry out to you, so to be beside you, I just…
Asking time and time again, beating over in my chest, to the birds taking wing, What I wanted to believe, what I wanted to hold dear to me - how I need to be sure.
On their own, these stars are only modestly bright, But they each shine their light onto the others So warm and mild, in these gentle days, My pride in them wells up inside, hey…
And just like that shooting star ―
I saw in that shooting star, such a light to slice through the dark; And if it shined into my eyes, I would know my way was true; see me, Regulus! On ou-r star o'first magnitude, we’re connected by a lattice of tethering lace; And through the tumult of the wishes we sent, and toward the world without end, now, Fervid, further, further, forever on, Pointing point to point, see how they join overhead? - Leo!

Excessively long A/N
The star called Regulus is actually a system of four stars. Three of them are dim, but seen all together, it is one of the brightest stars in our night sky, that is, a first-magnitude star. Regulus is the brightest star in the constellation Leo, after which the Leonid meteor shower is named, as that is their apparent radiant when seen from Earth.
I don't know anything about astronomy so I found all this out while writing these lyrics and was fighting back tears while browsing wikipedia 💀???
In case it's unclear, the intended meanings of those two lines in the chorus are "such a light [as to] slice through the dark" and "on our star of first magnitude." (The 'of' should basically not be pronounced.)
BTW it was extremely difficult to avoid the temptation to make the last verse start "to the migratory birds..." but unfortunately that's literally not even what the line says, so I couldn't justify it... inserting 'fervid' is enough cheekiness for this one
The first time I heard this I was like well it fucks but nothing will beat hare o matsu, then I kept listening and it beat hare o matsu... sorry to orangestar but that piano riff ohhh my god. Anyway, these lyrics were WIP for everrrr I'm pleased it's done. When I finish flyway my perfect honami comms trifecta will be finished!! (never)
