thought about tomodachi life too hard and realized that people being shocked by the lack of filters in a single-player game they own with their own money is actually cartoonishly messed up. we've grown so used to everything being filtered and not being able to do anything even remotely un-family-friendly in single-player games that being able to make the miis say fuck is a monumental occasion. insane.

the style of writing is not the problem, not the genre, not the subject matter, not even the words themselves. the SINGLE defining issue with the “Tumblr Prose” style i was trying to tackle is that it’s front loaded with imagery and metaphor and completely lacking in sense, reason, symmetry, motion, conveying information. i agree that plenty of writing can sound good and feel good to read when it’s all metaphor and visceral images but it needs to have a baseline that can carry it through or else the tail wags the dog and it’s all cool “quotable” lines and no substance, nothing to read between the lines, no character

lowkey and slightly unrelated but thats also y i get rlly irritated when ppl like post stuff making fun of their parents for like buying them cringey pride merch or going overboard with balloons on the front lawn for their birthdays or just something cringey but with good intention bc like um we could trade places if u want i promise u the alternative is not better at all, put the ugly cringey “im the gay daughter” shirt on and stand next to ur “i love and support my gay daughter” shirt wearing mom before i punch you

earlier this year 2 boys got expelled from my school for going on a teachers email and sending another teacher an email that says “you’re a disgusting little man” and i laugh about it all the time because imagine opening an email from your coworker and thinking it’s important and then it says that
