Narilamb idea that doesn't really fit my Lamb so im putting it out in the Fandom ether
The lamb does the brainwashing ritual for the first time since narinders indoctrination. They take them off somewhere alone and, while they have complete control over them, ask them to say they forgive them. That it wasn't their fault. That they're proud of them as their vessel. Maybe even that they love them too. All the while holding back tears.
Now there's 2 ways this can end.
1. They look up at narinder and see nothing but the blank, dead eyes of mushroom addled cultist, and be forced to face the fact that, even if he says those things, he'll never mean it.
2. Realize narinder was smart enough to not take any mushrooms while making everyone think he did and he's been 100% sober the whole time they've said all this.
I can see why this wouldn't fit within the realms of your story, considering the direction you took the characters. Only way I could see something like this working is one of my most hated tropes, being the; "It was all a dream/daydream" and they wake up after the confession. So.... lame a lot of the time.... Either way, as weird as it sounds, option 2 is the best way to go about it. While I get its mostly for laughs, I still find it strange how the fandom has to dumb down Narinder's intellect and power, for the sake of comedy and to be the butt of their Lamb's jokes, and it diminishes the character, for the sake of an empty gag. However if Narinder is fully aware, says and does these things, but Ewen goes on after the fact feeling a mix of catharsis and sadness and pretending nothing happened, while Narinder learns the truth, it could have also been one of those moments that served as a catalyst to allow Narinder to become aware of Ewen's feelings and slowly learn to accept his treatment of them, while also helping to forgive and let go of his desire for power.
But because their relationship was more of a sexual exploration with suppressed emotion until they erupted all at once, rather than a slow, mutual growth of outside and inner awareness, it would be difficult to fit something like this in the main narrative. Either way, it would be a nice moment to serve as a way to help draw them closer, while maintaining their sense of pride and both still hiding their real feelings in their attempt to grow.
