JUST A SCRATCH!

Well, I am suppose to be looking at my old art, but this one has a MONTHS gap between pages... So that's an issue. So for this one I'm gonna be picking two pages/panels I like, cuz otherwise I feel like cheating in a way

Okay so first we have this one

Honvestly? I rememebr REALLY enjoying drawing the backgrounds outside of the medbay, not inside (thats why the inside is... meh.

I dont think this comic is bad! I think it's okay considering the MONTHS gap and sudden art style changes-

I remember enjoying also writing the conversation between Kallamar and Poppy (if you can even call it a conversation-), tho on this comic was kinda the first time of pointing out my grammer too (WHICH IM GLAD IT WAS POINTED OUT.)

Why I say kinda? Cuz before that my friend approuched me and was like "Micheal we need to talk.." I was scared shitless just to find out that I am writing the word weird wrong. Weird? Wierd? Wired? Weird. Deafineatly Weird.

And obviously, a new page

My art got rather minimalistic..? But with all honesty, I'm glad it went towards that direction. Did I go more far away from my original inspirations..? Yes. But do I like my art? also yes! Hell, Yes I see still some things that I could fix, but otherwise? It's really fine

Also this is a page where I decided to change the font, and with all honesty I think it IS better now, more readable at least. But now I do take longer time thinking about how do I even place speach bubblesz but I think it's okay

... Okay now let's turn back few months cuz this one page was like a expection of actually being made not too long ago

FOOD

I swear it's a first comic that has a consitent art-style. But also it's one of the shortest ones so...

From now on play a game that you take a shot each time I say "like".

Cuz, well, I LIKE IT.

With all honesty? Comic was unplanned, I didnt mean to make it but for some reason I decided to do it anyway

But I feel like it was worth it so...

Not much to say morez cuz it's short and consitent.

I can say that I rememebr enjoying drawing it

FEELINGS

Also unplanned. It came out from an ask, and it's also short, but I'll say I LOVE how the background looks, and I have no idea why

I think the characters unfortunetly blend into the backgroundz so that's an issue, but I do enjoy how it looks

Aslo it has Nari, finally. I want to make Nari appear in comics much more, cuz he appears almsot NEVER. (and I know my friend really likes this guy I think-)

So I have to finally draw Nari. The day will come...

.. Just not now cuz Art fight here.

A CHILD YOU ONCE WERE

I have two fav pages, and they still dtand as my favorite of all. Ugh they are just so pleasing for me to look at, hell I am still proud of how the comic went. Unfortunetly near the end we lost the consistency when it comes to art-style, BUT AHH I CANNOT I REALLY LIKE THESE TWO AND I RARELY SAY IT TOWARDS MY ART.

The blood looking like fire on Baa-rin's coat? The look of fire? View of Baa-rin from up, looking down at them, and the one with Mary? I was proud and I remain proud

Also this comic reveals at least something about Baa-rin's backstory so.. That's also good

A child you once were is one of my favs, I was thinking of making it for a while, and while it did not fit my vision fully, it is still good I believe

I wish to make more comics about Baa-rin in the future cuz it was really fun.

Also, on this comic I started mess around with gradients, but it's not visible so..

TIME PASSING

Another unplanned comic, and another I'm rather happy with!

It has cartoony gore tho... I censored it with cat stickers cuz why not

I, again, did not plan this comic. I just went "hmm, there's not too much of Shamura" and decided to do it

I kinda edperimenter on it tho. Decided to do loneart, kinda diffreant shading, diffreant way of doing background, tho all these attempts are not really visible on the final product

This one is my fav page, probably because it took me the longest... The shadows showing the characyers took me a while suprisingly, and don't get me started on all the insides of Shamura that are there. It was HELL to draw

On this one I also used a gradient, and I think it is more evident too

POISONED WATERS

AGAIN, NOT PLANNED. Got an asked, got an idea and ran with it. Tho I think the short comics that are made from a quick idea are actually pretty good-

Again tried lineart, even tried drawing over lineart here and there, but after this a realization kinda hit me

I'm not a big fan of linearts-

LIKE, I like how lineart looks, I love art where it's main thing is line work, but I don't really like lineart on my own work from what I noticed

Yes, I'll put a line here and there, but that's it really.

I still do art with lineart, yeah, but that's not my main thing

There is literally only one page, so that's the only thing I had to choose from 💔 I can say I really like the background behind Astaroth and I have no idea how I did it-

And lastly...

A MYSTERY!

Okay so, actually this comic is the reason of me making these posts and looking back at my art. I am just SO DAMN PROUD of it, despite it being not even canon kinda to my au, and it being made rather quickly without thinking much-

But oh boy how I like the look of it. I compared it to my first comic ever made on this blog and- yeah. Yeah.

It was made literally days ago, and I started it when I had horrible headache but couldn't sleep (headaches hunt me receantly). It was made cuz of an attack I got on art fight, and I just LOVE how this comic came out

Hell, I think I made such a big progress, and I can even see it when comparing art from few weeks ago to now (I noticed it especially with the art I post on instagram- (Here's link to my instagram if interested, tho it's not cotl related (decided to put it here considering that I mentioned it-)))

... Not sure what to say now that I covered everything-

THE BEGINING

Oh boy, how do I even start...

This is not my proudest work, and I dont recall being proud even at the moment of creating it. You'll see across the pages how my style changes, how incosistent it is, especially in the first few comics. BUT, it does get better with time

Tho, I WAS proud of the drawing on the right, of Leshy waking up

Also I was doing comic with my finger on a phone, lost motivation at some point so I slapped leshy sprite cuz I thought it's funny.

TWO HEADS ARE BETTER THAN ONE!

Funny enough, Introduced Kallamar as second sibling not only cuz I wanted to draw him so badly, but I geniuenly wanted some kind of... realistic approach? By that I mean, is that when bishops in my au are ressurected, they have scars and open wounds, and some of the wounds can be deadly + when bishops are introduced, they already have their fleshy 'relics' back, yk Kallamar has his ears, Leshy has an eye... All that. Tho, before Kallamar, Baa-rin had to sew these fleshy parts back onto them...

But I feel like I'm rambling now- I just didn't want Heket to be ressurected first cuz her throat bleeding would've killed her

And what I lile from the comic? This

I actually took a long while drawing it, so I was REALLY proud. Also it introduced Narinder

NEW LOOK

I wanted their re-designe to have little comics... Idea failed considering how often I re-designed them before settling somewhat

Not a big fan of the comic, but I WAS proud, cuz I felt like they got expressibe in a way

Not much to say tbh

STORY OF CHAOS

... Do not get me STARTED.

Story of chaos is something I REALLY don't like. I was testing drawing on computer while drawing it + had HORRIBLE time. I considered re-doing the comic actually.

There were suppose to be more comics of exploring bishops pasts, where Lamb plays as a 'therapist', but I got side-tracked...

It's messy, handwritten, rushed, too quick paced I believe

I guess color red is nice...

FAMILY SEWN TOGETHER and DEAR SISTER...

I put these two together, with family sewn on the left and dear sister on the right

Why I put these two together? Cuz I feel like when talking about one of them, I'm also thinking about the other. Cuz both make me feel the same, extreamly nostalgic. I have no idea why, but I look at these two more pleasingly rather than the ones before them.

In someway, I miss the feeling of this art, these orange-ish and very evident inspiration from other media when you see me point it out...

But also unfortunetly these colors made my eyes somehow still hurt, so I'm glad I changed them still

OLD ENOUGH

... I have again nothing nice to say.

It felt also rushed and too fast paced unfortunetly, and I tried patterns HARD on this one which now makes me... just feel bad

Don't get me wrong, I love patterns, but in this one I feel like the png images and all that were a bit too over-used to a point of giving me an eye sore

I struggled to even find a pieace I like

CARE

Oh, introduction of Poppy!

Ah, Poppy. I wanted to expend on Leshy with all honesty, so I DID kinda use Poppy for that... But at the same plan I did plan on Poppy making a comic more focused on her, and I don't mean then "Just a Scratch!" one, cuz in some way it does still focus on Leshy...

I wanted to make a tiny backstory comic for Poppy, along with three other oc's I have, expect I only showed sketch of them so I'm not sure if it's even worth pointing out (but if you do recognize the hare triples, then yes I mean them)

And about what I like? I like these colorful eye thing I did.

Also as a fun fact, I was drawing this comic during my vacation

And I'm leaving at that for now cuz I ran into an image limit, so I guess it's not THAT long, and I have to put two images for the next one so...

I talked about about Micah and Kallamar once but it has been a while since that post, considering that Micah (my totally not obvious self insert) was also a bit re-designed- (but the stick horns fun fact from that post still applies, cuz he does wear them still from time to time)

Doesn't mean I can't talk about him tho!

1. Micah has wierd relationship with Kallamar 's siblings...

- Micah finds Leshy annyoing at times, that feeling is mutual. BUT they both can still get along just fine

- When it comes to Heket, its love/hate type thing... He admires Heket, but Heket KNOWS FOR A FACT that Micah has some problem with her but she just doesn't know what. Still, they talk pretty fine

(Okay reason for the beef is that I STRUGGLED on Heket's ingame boss fight, more than Kallamar's cuz she waa JUMPING. AND I HATE JUMPING ENEMIES.)

- Narinder and Micah can talk normally, but usually don't talk cuz Kallamar holds a grudge against Nari

- Kallamar loves Micah, sure, but he cannot help but find Micah a mystery, like where did he come from? What species even is that guy, a meerkat or a deer? Why he always survives some wierd situations? Maybe the mystery is one of the things that made Kallamar love this guy, who knows

I'll also write Shamura when they finally DO appear in comic

- When it comes to Shamura, their relationship is ... Eh??? Shamura when they join a cult often display a wierd behavior, yelling, throwing off tantrums, denyint things, or suddenly being the calmest person ever. The whiplash of emotions that Shamura displays after being ressurected, and it makes Micah overwhelmed

2. Micah has some wierd insides

- Each time Micah has a health check up, Kallamar tries to find where are his organs even placed. Once he found a heartbeat in his knee, then another time it was normally in the chest. Once he felt something hard under their skin (on the arm specifically) and after blinking, suddenly the hard feeling was gone and a stone was placed on his desk.

Heket says that Kallamar has to take a break maybe from all this medical stuff, tho Kallamar SWEARS he is not crazy

3. Micah knows exact layout of the cult, before even 'joining' it

- Lamb suspected that Micah was a spy, as previously stated in my first post about him. One of the reasons why it was suspected, is because Micah didn't need to have any tour around, he just knew where everything is
