I seem to like portraits either really simple, fluid and personality charged, or really elaborate, static, and emotionally charged. Any drawing I enjoy that falls in-between simple and elaborate I do so almost purely for the aesthetic.

Living in rural Thailand means that I can't get novels written in English.
So I downloaded Kindle to read eBooks and I FEEL LIKE I HAVE JOINED SOME SECRET EVIL ORGANIZATION.
Basically, I miss reading paper books but I missed reading books in English more.
good art makes me want to make something similar. great art makes me want to make my own.
Sometimes music hits me in such a way that nothing else matters at all.
I can be quite a cynical and disapproving person sometimes and all that seems to wash away when music is just right.
And I realise that despite all the crap that pollutes the airwaves and countless music television, painting a grotesque summary of the kind of music that's around.
I'm reminded of the good stuff that quite often only a handful of people are hearing, and the wonderful things that music is doing for these people, me included.
And it doesn't matter about all the other shit, because you'll never remember the stuff that didn't move you.
