And that’s basically my attitude towards all fantasy. There’s lots of things I enjoy in fantasy that wouldn’t work IRL. Enemies to lovers. Sudden kisses. Miscommunications in relationships. Codependency. Fight sluts who physically assault each other while emotionally connecting.

Once you start ascribing your morals to the fiction you consume, you tend to miss the issues in even the most innocuous, innocent seeming scenarios. It’s easy to judge other people’s fictional enjoyment until someone points out your innocent coffee shop AU is romanticised workplace harassment.

But it’s all fiction. It’s a fantasy. That’s why it’s fine.

With all due respect, I cross-checked your references with Kakashi from accounting, and the error in your fics was statistically significant. Every fic published in our “Enemies to Lovers” tag after the most recent episode’s air date needs to be updated and reviewed due to new policies issued by the author.

Victorian tea gown that clearly started as a kimono.  It still has the long furisode sleeves, but now they’re gathered at the shoulder and turned around so that the long open side is facing the front instead of the back.  Similarly the back is taken in with curved seams to fit the torso and pleated below that for the skirt.

This next one’s modern, but it involves hoopskirts so I’ll add it in because it makes me so happy.  There’s been different styles of wedding fashion that take kimonos and give them a more modern look.  Often this involves taking a kimono and then cutting and resewing it into a new dress.  Very pretty, but it can’t ever be worn like a traditional kimono again.  But now there’s another trend where the bride wears a hoopskirt with a white skirt, then you take the kimono and drape it on.  The back of the kimono covers the front of the dress, the long sleeves fall across the sides or the back, and you still wear an obi with it.  The result is pretty and the kimono itself doesn’t have to be altered at all.

So as some of you have seen, @lieu-rey did some amazing art for my AU I shared in the Ozasis Discord a few days ago. People seem to like it so I’m gonna try to put all my thoughts down about it where people can see it. I’ll make each post themed around certain events and we’ll start with…

The Beginning - The Lab

The Doctor performing the experiment is named Dr. Ferra, after one of my favorite characters from one of my favorite fics, The Shining Beacon.

The reason she started performing this experiment is she got drunk one night with an archelogist friend who was telling her about an almost human skeleton found in a tomb.

Ozma’s skeleton is very well perserved for a few reasons but that’s another post about my “Salem and Ozma’s tomb” hc.

The experiment started 34 years ago and Subject O26-131 (Ozma) is not the first clone. There were previous clones that didn’t last very long but his immediate precessor was Subject O26-169-14 that “lived” for about 14 years before dying suddenly in the tube.

All the clones were grown in tubes, think the Mewtwo lab from Pokemon 2000, vaguely sciency scary

Once every few months, Ozma is removed from the tube so Dr. Ferra can take measurements.

The Beginning - The Awakening

It starts with Oscar collapsing in the middle of training. He begins to glow gold and it looks like some energy is attempting to leave his body. (It is, it’s actually part of Oz’s soul moving over to his new(old?) body)

Ironwood promptly, as most adults do when children randomly collapse, begins to take him the military hospital not too far away. Qrow is closely following behind bc at the moment, he’s Oscar’s guardian and can make medical decisions for him while he’s unconcious.

While this is all happening, Oz wakes up in the middle of Dr. Ferra getting measurments.

Both people in the room are very very confused.

Oz has an intense, frantic feeling he needs to go somewhere he doesn’t know where but he needs to be there like now. Not exactly using his best judgement, Oz begins to fight his way through the military hospital. (Note he doesn’t hurt anyone, just causes a fair amount of property damage)

The first time Ironwood sees Oz, Oz is glowing gold, is floating a few inches off the ground (sue me I love the floating thing people with magic do) and is almost enraged. Once Ozma and Oscar are within a few steps of each other, the glowing and frantic feeling stops.

“Who are you? Why are you wearing a hospital gown???”

“James? Where am I and why am I wearing a hospital gown? Did I die again??”

From behind Ironwood, Qrow lets out a choked “Oz?”

Cue dramatic music for scene change!

The Beginning - Clothes and Hellos

Ironwood gets Ozma an atlas military uniform. Oz is not amused by the implication that he is part of the military and his personal school/kingdom pride is a bit hurt.

“I was the Headmaster of Beacon and the King of Vale, I can’t wear an Atlas uniform!!”

Ironwood assures him it’s a temporary situtation, while snickering at how huffy Oz is about it.

Oscar, Ozma and Ironwood all meet in Ironwood’s office and I know there were no chairs in the show but lets pretend he brings in chairs when he’s having smaller grouped meetings. There is also some hot chocolate for the members of the meeting. Oz is very happy about this.

They talk for a bit, try to figure out what is happening

After a good talk, Ironwood invites Winter, Penny, the Ace-Ops, and the kids + Qrow to his office.

Team RWBY walks in a freezes, staring at Oz in pure confusion. Team JNR is confused until Ironwood and Oz start explaining

“This was my first incarnation, apparently my original tomb was found and someone thought it would be a good idea to clone me. No, we don’t understand any how this works and are making it up as we go”

From there, Ozma is part of the team (kinda, sorta, some people still have issues to work out with him and he has some issues too but they are all at least in the same room)
