Tommy Kinard has a beloved cat named Goose. He's intelligent, with a fluffy orange coat and a regal demeanor. He's also possessed by a spirit of malevolence who causes as much trouble as possible and hates everyone but Tommy.
So when he has to go for a visit to the vet's, it's no surprise that things get a little chaotic. Luckily, the new vet - a Dr. Evan Buckley - is there to see him. It doesn't hurt that he's used to troublesome pets, and it really doesn't hurt that he's one of the most handsome men Tommy has ever seen.
An air of dark menace emanates from the passenger seat, outsized compared to the tiny creature it's coming from. Tommy sighs and shuts the door of his truck, winding around to the passenger side to pick up the carrier. The cat inside glares daggers at him as he lifts it off the seat. "Wanna calm down, buddy?" he asks. The cat, an older orange tabby named Goose, hisses at him in response. "You're already sick," Tommy murmurs down towards the carrier. "The least you can do is have some dignity about it."
Goose lets out a soft, ill-tempered myerrp from the depths of his carrier. A fluffy tail bats at the mesh door.
