Anyway, we've moved house a bunch of times and I lost track of the book and haven't seen it for probably two decades now. But I think about it now and again, and had struggled to find it over the years, but I finally, finally got my hands on a copy of my own and i want to cry haha

Was watching the Thor: Ragnarok trailer for the fiftieth time and I thought: you know who else would react like that? Kara Danvers. 

One day it just kind of runs your ass over enough times until you understand ‘I’m taking care of this now. This is my life.’

And before you can catch it happening, there’s something to get up for and work on being better for, and it’s really fucking annoying but things start to fall into place and get better.

Sometimes it’s shrimp, sometimes it’s a cat you found in the trash. Sometimes it’s the birds you feed and water.

It’s connection and we’re hardwired for it. We all know we aren’t ourselves when we’re hungry, but we’re even less of our true selves when we’re chronically lonely and isolated.
