hi anon! those scenes really aren't too bad to blend because although they seem white, there's also darker areas within them which are key. if you have light coming from say the left side of the gif, but the shot is dark on the right side, then it easily lends itself to a blend - for example with the last gif of that set, yes the shots are light because it's outside, but the season 1 shot is light on the left and dark on the right, whilst the season 5 shot has the building behind nance which offers a dark area for an overlay. so the key for that set in particular was to pick scenes that had a balance. with that said, i have this guide which is a little old now, but it includes an initial visualisation of what i'm talking about, and then goes on to show how i would darken a background of a light scene to achieve a blend. hope that can help you out, but i will admit that blending white scenes can be just as hard (if not harder) than dark scenes so sometimes you just have to admit your scene selection will not play ball (as much as it hurts)!
