Once you start noticing how the incapacity to handle discomfort affects how people live their lives it's actually pretty shocking how it ruins pretty much every conceivable aspect of existence. Interpersonal relationships, romantic and platonic. Career and education opportunities. Your politics Your willingness to go anywhere. The kind of food you eat. The kind of art you expose yourself to and your ability to read it. It's never just one thing, it touches everything, and once you notice it it's like suddenly being able to see germs or something. Just this horrific catastrophe people look at you askance for screaming about. As I grow older and see what became of my friends and peers who could not learn to handle discomfort, the more I'm like. This is a genuine societal issue
The tumblr account "myprivatelullabynovel" uses generative AI art to promote their novel and sees no problem with this. Block them and don't read their writing. But also, the novel they're promoting to sell for profit seems to be a fan fiction which is illegal. So there's that too.
I'm not tagging them because I already blocked them and they don't deserve any more attention.
Why is it easier and more comfortable to sit in a position that actively damages my joints than it is to just sit with okay posture. Why does my body crave its own destruction
you can post on tumblr even when you're trying to take a break from social media it literally doesn't count. it's like pepsi max, or pescatarianism

A Soldier's Requiem - Chapter 27
Chapter 27 - Making a Break
With Mikasa taken, Onyankopon pursues while Gabi and Falco figure out how to get into the hospital to tell Levi what happened.
Read it from the beginning
I apologize for not finishing this chapter over the weekend, then promising it earlier in the week, and then not finishing it then anyway; I was partially behind on my self-imposed Patreon deadline and wanted to get that out first. (My next work will be some hot, BDSM Levi x Petra, so if you haven't checked out my Patreon, you should consider it. *OK, /shameless plug)
I will also not be posting any new chapter this coming weekend. I will not be home, don't have a laptop, hate writing on my iPad, and don't use google docs or any cloud based platform to store my fic files. So, hopefully, posting this late means you will be satiated until the following weekend.
Idk why I worry about this kind of thing. I went for like six months of not posting anything for this fic, and then deciding randomly that I was going to start posting one per week. (Probably because I really want to start sharing the Jeankasa follow-up and the beginning of that contains spoilers for the ending of this one... or at least, it won't make sense) I'm not burned out yet, but I'm getting there, so if I take extra time, just know its to rest up so I can get back to finishing this and make it perfect to my own standards.
I'm also supposed to be working on wedding invitations and I've been putting that off too. Ugh... okay. Anyway. That's my update. Enjoy the reading!

I heard today was Jeankasa day, so here’s my contribution! But also, this is the 2nd part in a series. Full Image
I finished the first one last week. The preview is on my blog and the full image of that is also at the link.
A Soldier's Requiem Chapter 27 is probably going to be late again this weekend. FYI for anyone following.

ok so, I approached my local library with a proposal to donate a mural as a way to A: build portfolio/gain practical experience and B: give back to a beloved public institution. The director was very enthusiastic about it and i've been working on it since the beginning of March. Come with me as I endeavor to paint what is in all honesty an excessive amount of birds
I wanted the birds to look like they were actually in the space so first thing after doing the draft was to do a lighting study
after that I covered the walls in letters in lieu of a projector/vr headset bc i have neither of those :) Then i take a picture of the section of wall and superimpose the lineart over top of it so I can pencil in the lines
et voila
and that was a whole week on it's own so next comes the paintin' >:)

"I sort fics by kudos and only kudos on stories with high kudos counts, why aren't there more stories with high kudos, I ran out of things to read." You're part of the problem.
"Authors artificially inflate comment counts by thanking people, I can't find anything with a real comment count to read." No they fucking are not, they're grateful for engagement.
"I can't read anything under 100k." That's the majority of fics you're ignoring, most novels aren't even that long.
"I don't have time to look for the incredibly rare diamond in the rough, so I won't read anything below a certain amount of kudos, comments, and hits." Those fics are popular because people gave them a chance and then snobs like you found them.
"I won't read anthing with a single typos." You made typos in that sentence, get off your high horse.
"One singular author didn't thank me for commenting, I'm never commenting on any fic again so I don't get burned." You're punishing people because someone didn't give you engagement they don't owe you that they might not have seen.
"This fic is three months old, it's so old, it doesn't matter if I comment or kudos, it's old." Fics do not have expiration dates, comment and kudos.
You're killing your fandoms with your snobbish behaviors.
My 2 cents, because it's my personal experience... I don't think I really ever actively look for fics to read on Ao3 or anywhere else they could be. They kind of just... fall into my lap. Like, people share them on discord or on tumblr and that's how I find things to read. And I do the same thing I do at the book store: I read the description and if it sounds interesting, I'll read it (or save it for later by adding to my many, many open browser tabs, which is more often what I do these days). I don't even think to look at stats, it just doesn't occur to me.
