But since I really liked it, it'll probably influence me a little, mainly because I like the trope of Levi being Mikasa's guardian.

I think that in a modern AU, Grisha was mostly just an emotionally absent father when Zeke was little. He was physically there, but he didn't pay much attention to his son beyond telling him to do well in school. So Zeke thought that if he became the best, his dad would spend more time with him (spoiler: he didn't).

In canon, Grisha had Zeke when he was 19, so I guess, among other things, he just wasn't mature enough to be a father yet, unlike when Eren was born.

Actually, I have more of the little Jaeger brothers, that was just the first part 😈

Adult Zeke has such a punchable face, but little Zeke is so cute, he just needed a hug.
