Me writing parts of the upcoming Split update.
I've been following Split for a while now and this is the first time i've come across your IF. It is short atm yes but it already has me hooked in. One thing important to me in IFs is how to MC is written. I feel like most IFs dont really care about connecting the MC to the readers and the narrative and you have done it well. I love that the responses MC can give are actual genuine ones different kinds of people would have instead of it being something predetermined.
Also Cam's gonna get his ass beat if he gets near Karla. Atleast after MC buffs up a bit lmao.

Yeah, it's really small right now, a side project that was my escape from dark themes to... more dark themes (I definitely have a type 🤨).
I'm really glad MC works for you so far... MC is always the most important character for me, and Vertex is not an exception, even when they are less determined personality-wise here than in Split. I love writing MCs and giving them the best (usually the worst) time of their lives. If the game's premise can work without MC... I'm doing something wrong.
Oh, and the dynamic in that house would be interesting, because Cam will definitely try staying close to Karla. Especially depending on the kind of MC you play. Some of them might start showing… disturbing tendencies.

Status update
Hey! Just a small update about the project. I didn’t disappear.
This is a side project for me, and right now I'm putting most of my time and energy into my main project, which is getting close to the finish line.
I still want to come back here with another update, though, realistically more on a quarter-ish timeline. It probably won’t be a huge chunk of content, but it’ll be a noticeable change in scenery (we’re leaving the hospital and jumping into the pressure cooker).
So, to sum up, this project will be on the sidelines for a while, and we’ll see how the juggling goes. For now, I’m still figuring things out 🙈

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ANON! (I mean, it's probably not May 1st yet for you—I hope it is tho—but it's the thought that counts, right?)
I won't be free on my birthday, so I thought I could release the update today at midnight—that way I can tackle any bugs/errors/typos when I wake up. And that way I can also sleep on it and ignore the stress.
First, thanks a lot to the beta testers, but also to the two patrons who helped me catch several typos/bugs/errors! Thanks for the support from everyone too, you've all been there to hype me when I needed the boost.
Special thanks to the warrior I have in my corner who went through several routes just to find bugs!! I really appreciate and am grateful for the help.

Your saves are definitely broken, simply because I changed the file and uploaded a new one, and because there's a few new variables. BUT! There's a feature for you to start from chapter 4 if you'd rather skip the rewrite. A bit clunky, but functional so far.
Chapter 4 is around +200k words—for some, it'll definitely feel shorter due to the many variables I put in it. It brings us to a total of roughly 840k words for LAD, and I'm already working on chap 5 :))
I really hope you enjoy this chapter. Hopefully, the next chap won't take as long as the rewrite + chap 4 took me. Thank you y'all for sticking with me despite having nothing much for a whole ass year<3
Pactbinder - Chapter 3 Release
Hi all
Pleased to say that chapter 3 of Pactbinder, which covers most of the Pactbinder's first term at Hightower, is now live.
Overall, the content added with this update is once again rather substantial; it's ~124k words long total.
Overall, word count is at around ~292k words; I think the average playthrough is about 89k words, or ~30% of total word count.
Outside of the content outlined below, I’ve further reworked the menu system to make it look a bit nicer as it accumulates information, plus added some title graphics for the book itself.
Some things to look out for in Chapter 3 below the cut.

Also, a few players have experienced bugs with the new chapter. In most cases, their game was not properly registering the romance lock statistics, despite meeting the requirements.
