I've been hard at work on the next scene of chapter 2 and I've been making excellent progress! I had a personal deadline to get it out by the very beginning of September but I think it'll be out much sooner so yay!

Chapter 2 has 3 total bits to it.

Part 1 is out, of course but I will be adding to it eventually, I'd like for it to have some more mmf, maybe more conversation topics with your neighbor, ya know?

I'm 96% done with part 2; depending on what you choose, you'll meet one of the two remaining love interests so it may seem short if you don't consider that it's two entirely different interactions, you just see one per route.

Part 3 is, for the most part, completely drawn out and planned and I'm excited to get it going, the reporter will have another boring yet spooky work day.

I'd really like to be more active on here but truthfully, I'm a stay at home mom to a very hyperactive child and money is tight so I occasionally have to pick up side jobs when given the chance to help with money. So between being in mom mode and most of my nonchild time given to side work, I can get a little ghosty on here even if I'm still writing BUT I should have more time for the next few weeks to be on here as well as writing.

it’s short again (sorry about that), but chapter three will definitely make up for it.

i was struggling with the stat bars after two years of not touching twine, so i stripped the stats back to the absolute basics, but they work now…so a win is a win!

changed the plot a little, tiny bit. it just makes more sense to me now.

chapter three! which will involve your journey to the site of the first clue, some parkour, maybe a mummy encounter, and meeting menna.

sort out the profile section.

anyway. here’s to hoping we don’t have to wait another two years for my brain to reengage with this.

Chapter 4 of Pactbinder is now live.

Overall, the content added with this update is again pretty chunky: ~117k words added in total.

Total word count is at around 409k words (excluding menus and startup); the average playthrough is probably around 120k words, just under ~30% of total word count.

I do think this chapter will feel faster than the last couple - at least it did for me, when playtesting - I think that's due to a mix of action and branching.

Outside of the content outlined below, I’ve made some substantial reworks again to the menu system, including written flavourtext for the MC's relationship bars with certain important characters. There's also some fun stuff with the Mastery bars which you'll see once you get there.

Some things to look out for in Chapter 4:

Conclude the Pactbinder's first term at Hightower at last.

Take your end-term exams.

Grow closer to a collegemate - potentially romantically. Or spend time with the whole crew!

Delve into Old Hightower.

A reunion.

Soulmate Route – Public Update (08.07.26)

Hi!

The public update for the soulmate route is now up (29K words)

To access it, you need to use SKIP to CH4, because it's a bit further down the narrative than your last mafia job in Chapter 4. But you don't need any extra context to play it, besides what already happened in the soulmate branch.

There are no new content warnings beyond what's already listed, but the update includes non-skippable explicit sexual content. (I'll work on fade-to-black scenes at some point, but it's not that easy in this particular case...)
