and weirdly enough, instead of being left out, autistic people seem to be really super good at this shit. i don’t know why. it should be the opposite. but half the bloggers who can make me choke-laugh with a deadpan word or two are autistic.

MY TIME HAS COME So lemme explain you a thing. The first is called ‘hyperverbal’. It applies to a LOT of us–instead of no language, we have very flowery\precise language, and use a lot of words. And then some of us are ‘nonverbal’–we just don’t have a lot of language skills in our brains. Tumblr!speak works for *both*. On the one hand, one word conveys multiple meanings–how nonverbal people communicate. On the other, flowery phrases and hyperbole are right up the hyperverbal folks’ alley! So basically, Tumblr has helped create a language most autistic people ‘speak’ really, really well, and *it is the most glorious thing*. A lot of us switch between non and hyperverbal, and for me especially, it’s a godsend–when I need to script, there are easy phrases that mean a lot; when I want to be flowery or precise, I can! It is THE GREATEST THING EVER.
