a type of guy that exists and that you get often exposed to as a sex worker is the type of guy who found out they like being dommed and now sincerely believe that they have overcome their misogyny, because now instead of treating women like submissive sex objects, they treat women like dominant sex objects.
@demilypyro is so correct
the venn diagram of "men who think they're not misogynistic because they like femdom" and "men who think they're not transphobic because they jack off to trans women" is a circle
Side character enjoyers when their favorite side character isn't in every single episode of the show they're watching (they are a side character)

something really funny about the idea of people living through the bronze age calling it the bronze age. I guess that makes this the lithium age?
We legitimately frequently call it the Information Age. The 40s through 70s were contemporarily referred to as the Atomic Age. Really just depends on if any of those stick with historians.
Hesiod also laid out 5 Ages of Man, which to this day is where we get terms like Golden Age and Silver Age. One of those was the Bronze Age, though Odysseus would've been in the Heroic Age.
Ovid's 4 Ages of Man lacked a Heroic Age, so Odysseus would've been in either Bronze or Iron.
Still a dogshit line of dialogue though.

I am in fucking tears
Canadian bilingual packaging is fun because you get to see how various slightly odd idioms end up being translated by people who don't give a shit. I just saw a tub of double chocolate chip ice cream where the English label says "death by chocolate", but the French translates literally as "chocolate until death", which has a somewhat different vibe.
… especially when it comes from the federal government
Microsoft edge wrapped:
You have opened Microsoft edge 8 times this year, for a combined total of 1.5 minutes
You have uninstalled Microsoft Edge 10 times this year. This puts you in the top 5%!!
You have clicked 9 buttons in Microsoft Edge this year, the most common one being the 'close window' button.
Microsoft edge still isn't your default browser... :( Maybe next year!
Ngl I totally forgot fandom discourse was a thing. I don’t care man, I have car payments

like. its pretty god damn hard not to draw a direct line between the way people have reacted to jax and callout culture and the unpersoning of "problematic" transfems. if you are upset that someone still reaches out to Jax, that she's still treated with human dignity, that her story was heard and her pain acknowledged, then it seems very very likely to me that once you decide that a real person- especially, say, a transfem- is An Abuser, that person does not deserve peace, friends, or dignity. that you are full throat willing to misgender a trans woman once your chest is filled with righteous indignation. the refusal to sympathise with a problematic tranny- the anger at being asked to! we see that. and we wonder how little it takes for you to turn that on us.
If someone jerks me off with a puppet it counts as a threesome, right?
read your bible
thanks!

it's like, definitely still mansplaining if the man is dominating the conversation unintentionally and he would totally stop if you asked him to, actually. like, the term exists to describe a phenomenon that arises from the implicit bias that women are expected to simply be less knowledgeable about things. it doesn't matter if he's doing it on purpose or not. he does it cause he expects women to not know things or to not have any input. maybe don't fucking expect women to stand up for themselves every single time they have to have a conversation with a man because that shit happens like daily for a lot of women
genuinely, sincerely, if you are a man you need to learn to shut up when you're talking to women
one of the most classic antifeminist tricks is to go "well it's not fair to get mad at him for (sexist behavior) if he didn't know" which is not only yet another tired attempt to reject the political frame in favor of the personal, it's a direct tee-up to the next idea, which is "because [as established] i can't be responsible for sexist behavior if i don't know it's sexist, trying to tell me about feminist ideas is an attempt to guilt me and possibly even a form of attack." do not entertain this bullshit.
if we're only allowed to be mad at being mistreated if the mistreatment is deliberate, not structural & baked in to the normal way of things, then feminism is worthless. do not ever concede this point. we are multiple thousands of years into patriarchy and it's a worldwide antifeminist backlash out there right now; if he "didn't know" then he should've, and he better catch up quick.
99% of queer discourse stops right before they define the true difference between bisexual and pansexual!
