Plus I thought I had their dynamic down but now i realise they really are freak 4 freak.

Also Steven is kind of a laugh. I love that Zhang Hailou has made it his mission to terrorize this man as much as possible.

I’m here for it and I love how Zhang Hailou keeps treating this hallucination causing evil God statue like a minor nuisance at best that he just bullies constantly.

Zhang Hailou’s plans are so off the wall. I’ve been cackling so much this entire arc because of his shenanigans.

Also nooo Zhang Haixia reunite with your Drama Queen husband 😭 You were just pining and hallucinating him.

I would say that these two need to passionately makeout when they reunite but I’m honestly worried one or both of them will lose a tongue because of how many razor blades Zhang Hailou keeps in his mouth.

Zhang Hailou might be becoming my favourite cdrama character of 2026. Man’s fucking hilarious. That would make Zhang Xincheng two for two on iconic cdrama characters in shows I’ve watched.

It’s rare for me to find a cdrama as it’s airing. Usually I’m watching something that’s already wrapped up.

Zhang Xincheng so far is absolutely hysterical in this role. He already won me over as Pei Su in ‘Justice in the Dark’ last year but he’s rapidly shot up as one of my favorite cdrama actors after seeing him in this. His range is insane.

Ding Yuxi giving big “someone has to make sure this idiot doesn’t kill himself and everyone else” energy.

I fell down the Bistro Huddy well on YouTube and if you were to tell me that one of my new favourite Yuri couples was going to be from a short series where a guy plays literally every character I’d have laughed but here we are. Helloooo, Rubycole.

If you haven’t ever watched Bistro Huddy, it’s a really fun short-form series. Also, Ruby is a lesbian, Terry is gay, and Nicole is bi (I believe, I’m not sure if they confirmed her sexuality on patreon). Ruby and Nicole are now also officially dating.

I’m trying to 100% the game but no matter what I do I can’t seem to get these greyed out options in Chapter 35 & 36. Can someone help me please? 😭

The problem is that Li Zhi is very unsupportive of me murdering everyone in his pathway and meanwhile Li Tai is like “I’m not holding you back from doing what you want/need Queen. I am not here to judge”. Bring me my supportive husband back. Literally, if you decide to kill him for the Mirage Pavilion he’s still supportive:

Hell, Li Tai’s affinity for you jumps by +9 if you punch Xu Xiaode in the face (I mean you die right after BUT THATS NOT THE POINT).

Plus his hairpin in Road to Empress 1 was better and more sentimental. Why can’t I wear it?

And screw you game for giving me two heart wrenching montages of Li Tai across both pathways. The one at the end of his pathway did make me cry like come onnnn.

I’m holding out hope that thanks to this dialogue he’s not actually dead and we might get another storyline. (I’m coping)

Also, what do I need to do to get the greyed out option and 100% the game?

Someone said Yuri Foxes, someone else said the main love story is het? Fangs of Fortune technically has a main het relationship but I’m pretty sure that’s just there to pass censorship considering the show basically lays out that the main trio are all bisexuals and kind of neglects that relationship for the entire final stretch.

I’m just wondering if Veil of Shadows has the same energy? I know it’s by the same writer and there’s a lot of overlap with the cast.
