Did you know that AO3 allows fics with homicide in them? There’s a whole tag for Major Character Death and even more tags so you can find exactly what kind of character death you want to read.

Don’t they know that murder is illegal? You just know there are a bunch of homicidal maniacs out there who love to read those stories. They write them, too, in between killing people.

Anyone can read the stories on AO3! Kids can read them! They’re getting exposed to stabbing, poisoning, even guns! And they’re writing the heroes doing the killing, too! That’s basically telling kids it’s okay to go out and murder their families. It’s promoting violence and encouraging homicide and if we don’t do something about it soon, you’ll be murdered next!

Gonna be honest a lot of people deep down view cheating as worse than abuse which is why so many people view downright controlling and manipulative behavior in a relationship as 100% permissible so long as that behavior is centered around either preventing or discovering cheating.

oh this reminds me of an insane Am I Overreacting post I saw once. I don't have it in front of me so I can't remember the specifics, but the basics of it were that the OP had cheated on his girlfriend, and in response she had given him a huge list of "rules" for their relationship going forward, which included things like having his location tracking on at all times, letting his girlfriend go through his phone whenever she wanted, GF having veto power over who he hung out with and when, a curfew, mandatory checkins when outside of the house, never being with another woman under an circumstances, etc. OP felt like this was overkill.

And as with all AIO stories you can't know how much is real, but the reaction to the post was certainly real, and I was shocked by how many people were telling OP that he just had to live with it, that this is what his girlfriend needed to "feel safe in the relationship".

And I get that cheating is terrible and I get that OP's GF's trust was broken. But that said:

If the only way you can "feel safe in a relationship" is by becoming someone's parole officer, the relationship is irreconcilable and you need to break up.

I get that it sucks, but trying to maintain complete and total control over someone because your trust is broken, or because you're afraid your trust will be broken, isn't a relationship, it's a hostage situation.

#cheating is bad sure but girl just dump him #or boy just dump her #all this accomplishes is a spiral into toxicity
