Note to self: just do not trust a vegan when they swear there is no soy in something. Fucking hell. Is it too much to ask from vegans to note whether or not their food contains one of the most common allergens? I am not avoiding soy for the fun of it. The stuff makes me miserable.
Really, I am these days developing a real fucking hate for vegans, because so many of them are so ableist towards people who have medically necessitated restrictive diets. They will be: "Oh, I feel so bad about the poor animals. You cannot expect me to eat something that has touched the same pan that animal protein has been cooked in before." And then will be: "No, I don't think there was any [possible allergen] in this" after having used some food additive to make up for the lack of animal protein that is made almost entirely of [possible allergen]. They also will be: "Oh, yeah, we just prescribe this event is vegan food only, so it is super accessible to everyone" fully ignoring that the total percentage of vegans in society is actually about as big or smaller than the percentage of people who are allergic against one or more of the things usually used in vegan food to help imitate animal protein texture and the like.
Tumblr just straight up making up controversies like it's your job lmao.
