I wish this feeling upon everyone who wants to wear a dress, its really the best
this makes me so happy as a fat hairy guy who likes skirts and dresses i never get to see guys like me in dresses it’s always skinny twinks this makes me so happy 🥺🥺
will always reblog this. more fat hairy guys in dresses. more guys in dresses in general. this isn't just a "homina homina homina" post i truly believe that it is cruel and unjust that guys don't get to wear easy airy clothes like dresses and skirts.
🌷 a flower for anyone having a bad day today. i love you
Quote of the day
I’m seeing a lot of people saying this post changed their brain chemistry, and as a neuroscientist I wanted to say yes!!! Yes it does!
Wanting something requires dopamine signaling, but liking something doesn’t.
If you have a mental illness/disorder that affects dopamine, you might feel that you don’t want to do the things that you like. You do still like them. You will appreciate having done them.
Let your likes guide you.
(If you want to read more, here’s one experimental paper about it. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5171207/ This theory called the incentive-sensitization theory was originally created to explain behaviors in addiction but can be applied elsewhere as well)
Rewards are both ‘liked’ and ‘wanted’, and those two words seem almost interchangeable. However, the brain circuitry that mediates the psych
i know most leftists agree that everybody should have a right to food, water, shelter, and healthcare but i think a vitally important fifth pillar is privacy. people should not be compelled to be tracked, monitored, or to share personal space with others to access their other essential rights
"If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear" is and always has been fascist rhetoric everyone.

Something neuroscience-y that helps with prose: attention is selective. A character will not notice everything in a room. They will notice what matters to their goal, fear, desire, training, wound, or obsession. A jealous character notices hands. a hungry character notices food. A soldier notices exits. A lonely character notices pairs. Description becomes character when attention has a bias.
Stay engaged.
saw an annoying post. but i’m being so brave about it
i’m obsessed with you. shall we get married

*guy who doesn't know anything about sports and has never cared about sports in his life* hey did you know womens professional baseball is returning after 70 years and the games are going to be streamed for free on youtube and the season starts august 1st
youtube link
Our time is now. The inaugural season of the WPBL begins August 1st, 2026.
website
I think this is so cool and it's awesome they're streaming games for free! I also think it's incredible that this picture is the one they used to advertise the opening day. It's like those videos where someone threatens the camera while their partner shows off their collection of rocks they found.
the team logos look so fucking good. i’m so ready
reminder that gazafunds is a great website.
each time you load the site, it shows one randomly selected, verified fundraiser that's low on funds.
extremely straightforward, & an easy to remember url. it's my go-to when I'm able to give; removes any room for procrastination or overthinking.
Every Black girl is so pretty
*reblog if you agree*
I enjoy the sex in heated rivalry but it's not the main selling point for me which is unfortunately impossible to explain to people who haven't seen the show in a way that doesn't sound like a joke
"what do you like about the sexy gay hockey show based on a romance porn book with lots of sex?"
"oh well I think the plot and the characters are really great!"
I'm being serious but it gets a laugh every time
I think you should, as a basic matter of self-respect, not treat anyone else as above you in any inherent fashion.
They might be more skilled at something, in a way you should respect to accomplish things. They may have power over you, such that you need to listen to them to avoid pain. They may be someone you look up to, because they're accomplished in some way.
But fundamentally everyone you could ever meet, from presidents to scientists to writers to elders, should be treated no better than, say, your buddy Kev. They don't need deference Just Because, they aren't inherently smarter on axes you haven't seen evidence for, and they do not deserve or require Respect in some amorphous fashion.

people are yelling at the person who runs an annual survey about terminology for people outside the gender binary that their survey targeted at people outside the gender binary does not include binary trans people.
this website is so fucking exhausting sometimes
sometimes people are asking a question but not asking you. they are asking a specific group of people who does not include you because they want to know what the answer is among that group of people. this is fine and normal. different groups of people have different opinions about things.
for instance, binary trans people and nonbinary people have different opinions (on average) about what pronouns people should use for them, so if you want to know more about what pronouns nonbinary people want people to use for them you might ask only nonbinary people and not binary trans people, who will have a different statistical distribution of answers. this does not harm binary trans people in any way.
a reminder that, despite the dickheads in the gender census' tumblr, that nonbinary people filling this out helps the creator a lot. here it is: https://www.gendercensus.com/
If you're writing anything involving cons, scams, heists, or morally questionable characters who are very good at lying, here are some free resources I've been using for research. Saving you the "why is this in my search history" anxiety.
1. The FBI's Famous Cases & Criminals archive (fbi.gov/history/famous-cases) has detailed breakdowns of real fraud cases, Ponzi schemes, and confidence operations. The language they use is clinical and precise, which is perfect for getting the procedural details right.
2. The FTC Consumer Sentinel Network publishes annual reports on the most common fraud tactics in the US. Great for understanding how modern scams actually work and what makes people fall for them.
3. The Smithsonian's American Art Museum has a free digital collection of forgery case studies. If your character forges documents or art, this is gold.
4. Court Listener (courtlistener.com) is a free legal database where you can read actual court transcripts from fraud trials. Want to know how a real con artist talks under oath? This is where you find out.
5. The Internet Archive's collection of old newspaper crime sections. Search for "confidence man" or "swindle" in papers from the 1920s through 1960s and you'll find incredible real stories that would feel too dramatic for fiction.
Bonus: The Psychology of Fraud section on the Association for Psychological Science website has accessible articles about why people trust, how deception works cognitively, and what makes someone a convincing liar. Essential reading if you want your con artist characters to feel psychologically real.
Reblog to save for later. Your WIP will thank you.
