These kids today, I tell you what. In my day you had to bury your girlfriends under subtext and then end the series when the truth was revealed.
Risked her job, hell, it's an open secret now that the Rupphire wedding (which, may I remind folks, was the first queer wedding in a kids' cartoon, which is a BIG DEAL) is why everything about the rest of the series felt rushed. They had to scramble to tell the rest of the story because they took a gamble and the network retaliated by shortening their production time.
Rebecca Sugar and the crewniverse risked the entire show getting flat-out cancelled in order to show that wedding, only for people to say it "wasn't progressive enough" and was "giving in to stereotypes" to put Ruby in a wedding dress. Never mind that Ruby kept getting dubbed over as a guy in localization, Sapphire was unmistakably feminine in every version, and putting Ruby in the dress was a flagrant way to say, "fuck you, you can't pretend this is a straight couple; this is a queer couple and a queer wedding."
Dana Terrace has said that The Owl House only exists with its intended queerness because of what Rebecca Sugar and her team accomplished with Steven Universe. Hell, there are multiple members of the Steven Universe team who went on to work on the other shows mentioned in the OP--Steven Sugar, for example, who is Rebecca Sugar's brother and inspiration for SU in the first place (as well a background artist on the show), is currently an artist on The Owl House. There are people who got their start on Steven Universe who now only have the opportunity to tell more queer stories because of Steven Universe's success.
I'm not even 30 years old yet and I'm still old enough to remember when being gay was fully illegal in the United States. Not gay marriage, but literally just BEING GAY. It wasn't that long ago, and the fact that today in 2021 I can turn on the TV and watch gay cartoons intended for children? I never thought I'd see it. Fucking ever.

Didn't this exact kind of conversation happen in reference to korrasami in the avatar the last Airbender ending. Where people complained it was only at the end. Only to realize it literally had to be so the show wouldn't be canceled. And because we got that and the gates of hell didn't open. It helped ruby and sapphire become a thing and now we have all these new ones.

I think I should pick up XCOM: Chimera Squad sooner than later. Even if it's an xcom 2 spinoff, it looks like it may have interesting story elements that could help my writing, such as Torque being born in an Arctic base facility. It never got mentioned in the games, though maybe it came up in the books? IDK.
You definitely should. The world building in this one is legit top notch. From stuff involving human psionics and sectoids to where the andromedons are to even a rather nasty situation the hybrids are going through. Wont give spoilers. But its really good "no perfect solution to some problems without being grim dark" kind of world building

I thought the no retributive attacks was specific to the city your in. As in. Its notably one of if not the only city thats not happened in yet and as such is why its being focused on as an example for others. In a way your actually preventing an attack from reaching strong enough levels to cause problems so the city maintains that reputation

I agreed to draw this random guyâs fursona. I finished the art completely and in turn asked for payment, but he only wanted to pay the originally agreed upon $15 even though he changed his mind several times (added several elements and wanted it paint shaded instead of flats etc.) and it ended up being a $45 commission by the end.
He kept refusing to pay, and brought a friend like a hype man to further insist that I was being a jerk by demanding compensation for my hard work. He had an app on his phone where I was supposed to enter the amount of the commission, so I made the price $30 and added several additional lines to the invoice including a âpiece of sh*tâ charge, a âIâm never drawing for you againâ charge, and a âf*ck youâ charge.
He almost payed it without looking, but eventually did and flipped out, calling me a scam artist and saying he was gonna call his mom.
So I beat the absolute hell out of him and his friend outside a Jack-in-the-Box restaurant.
This could quite possibly be a real story except for the fact that most furries pay religiously and even give tips.
If it was any other kind of art I would have believed it.
What I found out from multiple artists who follow me due to the content of this submission - furries pay well and even tip artists.
Theyâre literally like the rich merchant families of renaissance Italy but nowadays and on the internet.
