there's a disability tiktoker named imani (crutches n spice i believe is the username??) who posted a great hypothetical this morning on how this'll drop autism rates (summary: disability becomes a medical injury and investigating it for god knows how long withholds supports, drs scared of the blame eventually going to them for suggesting acetaminophen for fever or some other ailment, parents not seeking medical care for their kids on these matters or letting their child go undiagnosed/withholding supports means underreporting, etc).. mind you, i might be misconstruing that last point from her vid, but considering there was already a stigma and such a complexity to autism that makes it easy to go undetected well into adulthood, this'll just reverse the progress that i've noticed in recent years and set everyone back even further

what do these rich pricks even know about this shit? like genuinely, do they just assume every autistic person is low-functioning and a stereotype?? because i can assure you, some of their cabinet likely has it but hasn't been diagnosed. some of their biggest fundraisers and, lbr, most of the tech billionaires they fawn over probably have it, but either haven't been diagnosed or hide the diagnosis (or, if you're elon, you're public about it and even if you weren't, most would pick up on it anyways)
