r/scrungycats is fucking amazing
This one is my favourite. Itβs subtle. Itβs contemplative. This cat has so much to consider
I see weβve reached the βblame your failures on communist subterfugeβ phase of the AI business plan
The AI business plan, for reference:
1. Promise everything.
2. Piss off everyone.
3. Deliver nothing.
4. Blame asians?
I'm sorry to inform you that there was no Ace Attorney announcement as a part of the Nintendo direct on 9th of June. I fear the reddit "leak" was most likely fanart
ohhhhhhh yeah I think I see what you mean. it probably looks like fanart because I'm actually the one who drew it
My thought process for a hypothetical new Ace Attorney went as such:
Ace Attorney will not spoil the twists from their other games, even if it leads to weird/unsatisfying characterization and dropped plot threads.
As much as I wish it weren't true, Ace Attorney will never have a game without a young, female character in the main lineup.
If they make an AA7, even one year of timeskip means all the younger teenage girl characters (Trucy, Pearl, Athena) will be "too old."
That means AA7 will have a new teenage girl character.
However, I have a hunch (wishful thinking) capcom will return to existing popular characters again, since adding a lot of new characters in AA6 and TGAA (which I have still not played) led them to having more niche popularity than the older games
Also, the AA4 version of Phoenix scored way higher than the AA5-6 version of Phoenix in the 2024 popularity poll, and Trucy scored #4
So... if AA7 will probably have new characters, but we want a game with returning characters, then why not make a game that takes place during the 7 years timeskip?
If a game stars Phoenix during that time period when he's not currently a lawyer but canonically still helping solve cases, wouldn't the Ace Attorney Investigations format fit perfectly?
So, in my hypothetical AAI3, it would involve Phoenix and Trucy helping Edgeworth solve cases & creating the MASON system a year before the events of AA4. Instead of Edgeworth's "mind chess," there'd be a mini-game where you'd interrogate people under the guise of poker. You'd meed a young girl in Europe named Athena and help her out of a sticky situation. And of course, the AAI games all feature a flashback case, so in this game you'd play as Mia Fey, with Phoenix as her new apprentice.
I enjoyed designing the costumes for this! I even consulted a friend living in Japan so make sure the fashion wasn't too influenced by my western bias.
I gave Phoenix the blazer/hoodie combo because allegedly a lot of men in Japan do wear that, and there was a similar design in the AA4 concept art. And I gave him crocs because I thought it was funny.
it turns out it's way harder to make a fake game leak than it looks LMAO basically no one believed it, but I still had a lot of fun!! I'm surprised no one called me out on it tbh, this is predictable behavior for me. sorry for lying I live for the bit π«‘
all of these ALSO coexist, specially in a p!nk concert

*looking at the OC I crafted with my own hands* what the actual hell is her problem
sometimes being a fan of something means not wanting them to make any more of it
π΅ buck tooth, what's the issue? π΅
commission for @snapscube !!
There's always a moment of intense cultural whiplash whenever I realize I'm talking to someone who thinks "legal" and "illegal" are meaningful categories and ascribes innate goodness to following the law. It's like meeting a space alien.

If you see the quote "I refuse to share my body with a man who wouldn't defend it politically" or any variation of it floating around the internet β it was Kat Blaque who originally said it and she would really appreciate it if people gave her proper credit for it but it's gone viral on a lot of different platforms and most of the people sharing it don't know it's from her or choose not to credit her on purpose.
Like I just know terfs are going to be parroting it pretending it wasn't said by a black trans woman about herself & her life.
I will continue posting in favour of there being fewer people like that
god my heart is fucking breaking for all these people THERE IS STILL TIME DO YOU HEAR ME
IT ISN'T TOO LATE AS LONG AS YOU'RE ALIVE
hi everybody i started HRT at 35 so like don't even despair
being in ur twenties makes u feel like 30 is a brick wall u either fly over or crash into but i promise u it's a door and it opens up into the rest of ur life like getting past the prologue of an open world game
very important addition from @thatsladyfaggottoyou ty <3
I started HRT at approximately 30 and top surgery at 32 just 4.5 months prior to this photo. It's never too late.
i am not a psychiatrist but i do find it really weird how autism checklists are so often focused on "outward" signs of autism rather than what is going on internally. i don't know how to explain it but "do you make eye contact with other people" feels like a much less relevant question than "how does it feel when you have to make eye contact with other people?"
while i'm here, the other one that always pisses me off is "do you interpret idioms literally, for example 'bull in a china shop'?"
well, no, obviously. i know what "bull in a china shop" means because that is a popular phrase with a clearly defined meaning. and if i hadn't heard it before, then i would still not interpret it literally, because it has the cadence of an idiom and i would probably be able to work out from context what it meant. what is the point of this question
third and final complaint: "are you good at noticing subtext?"
i feel like the problem with this question is best illustrated by a conversation i had with a friend a while back, where i said something like, "i feel very safe with you because you don't do subtle hints and you are always very straight-up with me about what you are thinking and feeling."
and he laid a hand on my shoulder and was like, look dude i'm gonna be straight up here. i am subtle with you constantly and you simply do not notice <3
@luckyybones hope you don't mind me screenshotting but you are actually so correct
"it would be so good if it was good" will haunt you but "it's extremely good, except for the one or two parts which are so bad it's genuinely kind of insulting" will straight up drive you insane
one has you making posts like "okay but if the author UNDERSTOOD the POLITICAL IMPLICATIONS of the story they were telling, and leaned into it, it would actually be a really interesting exploration of..."
the other has you pacing your bedroom at one in the morning going "why. why would you ever in a million years do it like that. genuinely what possible thought process was involved. was the writer possessed by a fucking ghost or something."
9 out of 10 times I see people on here celebrating a new "landmark piece of anti-AI legislation" the legislation in question is inevitably some variation of "we propose making IP laws more restrictive but presented through the language of opposing AI". But that one from germany about holding google liable for the words of its AI overview feature is legitimately good I think. If they actively choose to shove that thing in everyone's face as the first thing they're going to see when they make a google search then they shouldn't be able to dodge accountability for the information it provides with a little "gemini AI can be inaccurate, please remember to double-check information teeheehee" disclaimer.
the germany ruling is good because it's targeting something that's bad to do whether it's done by an AI or a human
