it's also important to note that olruggio says that this is the ONLY term they have for people who aren't witches. the line drawn between witches and everyone else is so clearly placed and enforced and has such a negative connotation to it. that must be why qifrey, an outsider, calls it an offensive term when coco is referred to as one. he knows what it's like to be alienated, how easy it is to do so, how much people will turn their backs on you if you aren't considered one of them

Twitchcon was today and I had a blast dressed as Joe Hills’ character! I made my own juppet and a belt chain with little references, like the alphabetized bone shop, the arrow shop, windcharges, potions of levitation and more.

The entire court is looking for presents, and at first they try to get Fengqing to make recommendations, but those two are completely convinced that every question is from a spy acting on behalf of the other to get them to reveal their present so they can plot to get something better and so of course they will not say shit. At some point, a random official remembers he’s a Sword Guy and a freaking Martial God, so they finally chill like, oh yeah, we know what to do with those kinda guys.

I know the joke is that Olly lives in Kitchen while Qifrey is battling it out in the regular manga, BUT there's just so much depth to Olly. He is living in this strange medium calm, but he doesn't wait around for a wrench to be thrown into the works, he lives with a permanent wrench. Even without his memory of their most impactfull adventures, Olly knows they've been getting into trouble since the start. Qifrey is the problem child of the great halls, after all, and they live together. Qifrey has never once been settled and satisfied; Olly brings that up! "Thought you'd finally settle down." It's only a matter of time before their next adventure sparks catastrophe.

Yes, I was tearing through books constantly, and talking to this teacher at least weekly. Because even though I always loved reading as a kid, literature was always a very weak subject for me in terms of a teaching-to-standardized-test school setting (I just do awful on "what color were the curtains" type multiple choice questions. Those details don't stick in my memory THEY JUST DON'T). But that didn't matter for this class. I could just read my way out of any bad test score. I have always had fond memories of how I "fudged" my way through that class and "abused' the extra credit policy.
