Kate Gompert from Infinite Jest is supposed to have psychotic depression and she’s very normal. She’s just a one-off chapter character early on to set the tone of the mental illness themes of the book. Most realistic depiction of how someone with that actually acts I have ever seen… She won’t hurt people. She just gets mats in her hair and has her horrific random crying spells and would be such a bummer to hang around if she ever got out of her greasy sweaty bed
