An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Hi im not dead, Im just tired lol
New update of something finally!
Alastor drawings inspired by the extraordinary robert ‘silk’ mason
Hiii!!! I love you art soooo much ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I have a question: I know you said you were leaving the fandom bc of racism, and I’ve been seeing you posting more sketches? Love the content ofc, but are you still leaving? Are these scheduled posts I’m seeing? Or just scraps from the sketchbook? Or are you back?
Whatever the answer is, sending you all the love!
(Also wanted to let you know that since you announced your departure due to racism in the community I’ve been doing reserch into how I can be a better ally to the POC community in fandom spaces and how to call out racism when I see it so yall don’t have to❤️❤️ hopefully I can help prevent more pain❤️❤️❤️)
i wasn't sure if i'd answer this but;
i definitely don't feel 'back'. my investment in the show had certainly shifted when i decided to leave fandom. i still remain in contact with the friends i've made tho, and i still like to share art with them and i love their art and the stories they make too. sometimes, i might publish what i make to this space (in some form?). i guess i'm still figuring things out.
i'm still very hurt by what happened but i don't want to stop myself from doing whatever i want. so i don't know what that looks like now! how much i might engage is a mystery for the both of us tbh lol
I get it. In the past on another platform I left a fandom or two, but not I think in a way that most people would define it?
I still posted stuff for it, I just didnt interact with anyone else. I turned replies off, turned notifications off, and just uploaded stuff if I felt like it. I dont know if I even tagged anything for the Fandom. It was like I left the Fandom space, but not the IP I made stuff for. Like my own little cabin of interest with black out curtains.
That might be close to what you're feeling, idk. I think it can be a pretty good compromise for people who still enjoy something, but dont want to be within the Fandom anymore for whatever reason.

OH MY GOD I FORGOT ABOUT ART FIGHT
FUCK
Can I posthumously join a team
Is that a thing?? Or am I stuck being a shadow player this year??
Magic system where magic is treated like work in 19th-century England. Magic is something that everyone is naturally able to do, and you can learn different skills and do certain tasks with it, but it's tiring and wears out the body.
Lower class people use magic all the time--it's necessary for survival--and they're hired to do magic for the upper classes, whether they're working the fields, hiring out their magic for factory work, or working as a maid in an upper class home. Gentlemen are allowed to use magic in a few specific "refined" occupations.
Upper-class ladies are allowed to do almost no magic, except for tiny decorative uses--magic is "low", and using it too much destroys your status in society. Upper-class ladies also regularly go insane from "magic hysteria". Some women are starting to notice this and are arguing for women to be allowed to do healthy amounts of magic. Other people find this idea coarse and unfeminine.
The world and story would be shaped by what the magic actually does (so there's a reason to write this as fantasy rather than pure historical fiction). I'm sure there have to be plenty of stories like this already, but it's still an interesting framework.

yo…. when jet breaks in the tea shop and accuses zuko and iroh of beinh firebenders….
do you think any of the patrons looked at zukos scarred face - obviously done by a firebender - and immediately think jet was an asshole? like
jet: hes a firebender!!!!
patrons, thinking about the backstory they concocted for zuko and iroh where their home was invaded by firebenders and they barely survived with their lifes so they could come and have a peaceful life selling tea in a city the war doesnt touch:
Jet: He’s a firebender!
The Patrons to the Tea Shop internally: You fucking stupid, sir? I think you might be stupid.
#if someone shouted something racialized at a food service worker and he pulled swords#if be like ‘yeah that’s fair’
He didn’t even use his own swords. He took them from a guard and the guards let him
my controversial opinion is I don’t think Zuko was confused by “my first girlfriend turned into the moon”
he was there during siege of the North. he infiltrated the spirit oasis. he has an uncle who studies spirits and the spirit world. he watched the sky go dark then the moon suddenly reappear like everyone else in the entire world did. and most importantly he watched zhao get eaten by a giant godzilla fish spirit.
his entire life since he saw that beam of blue-white light in the south pole has been ‘this day has already been so goddamn weird’
The only really new information was that that was Sokka’s girlfriend
Important opinion in the tags that I need to have be part of the post:
Also, Iroh was there? He literally watched Sokka make out with the moon spirit. And you want to tell me that a romantic sap like him would not have immediately told Zuko about this romantic tragedy? Please, Zuko has known about this for ages, he just knows that this is not an acceptable situation in which to say “yeah, I know.”
Sokka: “My girlfriend turned into the moon.”
Zuko: “I know.” “Yes.” “She sure did.” “Uh huh.” “Tell me something new.” “Are we still talking about that?” “That’s rough, buddy.”
[image: tags by samwisethebold: #it’s not that he doesn’t get what sokka means #it’s that how on earth do you respond to that]
When you put it like that, this is actually a legendary display of tact on Zuko’s part
THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!!
