I feel like every "math person" has a textbook/textbook author that they absolutely adore. Should any fellow "math people" see this post, tell me what your favorite textbooks are. Bonus points if you include which textbooks you hate and it starts a disagreement with someone else who loves that textbook.

my cat is completely obsessed with watching the bathroom sink drain and I have started calling this "her shows." as in when I'm in the bathroom and she meows and runs up I'll be like "oh you want to watch your shows?" and run the faucet for an extra few seconds so it fills a little. she will then sit there at the edge of the sink for ages totally entraptured by the drain. blorbo from her sink

Though on the topic of plurality and identityplay, a few of my friends have or have had designated 'sandbox' headmates for the explicit purpose of doing fucked up identityplay with. And 'sandbox identity' is one of the hottest categories of existence. Literally created to be rewritten over and over, to have its modes of presentation, name, beliefs, histories, favorite colors, and feelings about others changed according to others whims. Truly something special.

There’s an emotion only unlocked when you live in a house with multiple stories. I call it “the stair emotion” and it’s when you realize the object you need is on the other side of yet another trip up and down those goddamn stairs. It’s the closest I get to transcending the desire for material goods. Maybe I don’t need that notebook. Maybe I don’t need anything.
