So, I take 2 anti-seizures for bipolar and 1 anti-depressant as an additional to my bipolar (my bipolar is the most destructive of my mental illnesses oops). My primary doctor yesterday, who I’ve only seen for about 7 months, told me “you look so normal, no one would guess you have psychiatric illnesses” and goes on to tell me he dealt with mentally ill patients that day who were far off worse than me. Like whaaaaat? Sorry???? I’ve tried 15+ medications, through all the horrible symptoms, to find a decent combo to actually make my life somewhat more manageable. My psychiatrist, who I’ve seen for over 9 years and I trust so much, has helped me and always listened to my problems with no doubt of my emotions, and my primary goes and says that I’m perfectly normal xD. Him saying that to me pissed me off so much, I legit wanted to drop kick his throat. Sorry for trying to better my life and be a “normal” adult.
