Part 4:
Papa Roach was really really cool! It was so cute when his youngest son came out on stage and sang with him during braindead and then when his older son joined them.
The new metal time machine at the end of the set where they played famous metal songs from the 90s early 2000s was so fun :D
My highlight was definitely seeing twenty one pilots though, they were half the reason I even went in the first place, and they did not disappoint at all!! They were so fun and Tyler was doing silly stuff like always and Josh sang so beautifully, can't believe I got to see that live. Singing along to all their songs felt so cathartic and incredible!!
Seeing the heathens ā next semester transition was insane!!
And of course they both claimed something, at least now they are allowed lol
The lights during shy away were so beautiful!! (Pansexuals rise up)
When he played city walls during the jumpsuit bridge I nearly cried :')
Part 3 of my southside thoughts:
Kraftklub was so so so so so so good!!! :D
Really great way to close the night out. The bit towards the end (the ending?) where they went into the pit and sang 'schief in jedem Chor' was so beautiful!! The crowd in general was so amazing, we were so far back and it was so cool seeing all these many many people infront.
Natasha Bedingfield was surprisingly good!! It's not like I thought she would be bad, I just didn't think I'd enjoy her set so much, because from the two songs of hers I know they aren't really my vibe, besides of course singing them at party's, I just wouldn't put them on. But her live versions were so good and she has a gorgeous voice. It was really incredible when she covered zombie, her voice goes so well with the song!!
Singing unwritten after it had just rained a lot in the morning was so fun!!
If I had to say a new favourite artist from Southside it would definitely be Kingfishr. I love the instrumentals and how Irish they sound. They were so full of energy and listening to them and seeing them play made me so happy!! We stood at barricade for this, because we went into the tent to get some shade and thought why not go to the front if it's possible right now, and it was so cool!! My first time at barricade, and getting to see them up close was so cool, because you could see how much they love playing music together!!
Killeagh was the most fun one I think, because the crowd joined in the most for this one and it was so incredible to stand in this huge mass of people who were all singing along.
We joined the Nothing But Thieves set very late, so we didn't get to see much, only about 3 songs I think :(
But they were still very good!!
Sadly we couldn't stay to see the full Florence + The Machine set, but they were so incredible. She wore this purple, flowey, sheer dress and she is genuinely so beautiful and her voice is angelic. The dancers were so amazing too, their movements and facial expressions were so good!! I think seeing her and singing along healed something in me. Since we joined at the side we could also dance along :D
(hunger is such a gorgeous song, I wish I could have added it too)
Part 2 of my southside thoughts:
Royel Otis was great too!!
Their version of murder on the dancefloor was so fun
Basement was really great!! We joined their set a bit later sadly :(
The DONOTS were excellent :D
The Offspring was great, very punk rocky :D
Yungblud was great as expected!! We did start out in the center of the pit and obviously people were moshing so we went more towards the side, but as soon as we were in our new spots it was amazing!!

Was at the southside festival over the weekend and it was so amazing!!
Part 1 because there is apparently a limit to how many audios you can put in a post:
Unpeople were really fun and I think I will start listening to them now!! Their outfits were also really cute and their energy was so infectious :D
Their first full album is coming out October 9th!
Halsey's set sadly got cut short because of a thunderstorm, but she was still really amazing in the short time she had!
The live version of colors was really beautiful, and the lights during this made it all so pretty :D
Empire Of The Sun was really crazy live. Their stage design was wild and the backup dancers were really cool too! (I just looked it up and they do have lore! I assumed so during the performance, because it felt very picturesque and story like)
Skipping around to this song with my best friend was so fun!
Provinz was so incredibly good, I don't know how I haven't started listening to them before. Vincent's (the singers) voice is so pretty and filled with emotions. I love the way he moves, it looks a little awkward at times but in this really beautiful way that made me very endeared towards him.
I felt so much while standing there and listening to them.
Grandson was so fantastic and I loved how he encouraged anger at the system and forming community!! It's always great to have artists that actively speak out against the injustices and systems that oppress us and that show support to marginalized groups.
Blood // Water live was insane, and it felt so freeing.
(stigmata is a great song, but the title made me think of unholyverse lol)
The beaches were really fun and cute!! I liked their energy and they are so right, we need more women at southside!!!
Leandra was so gorgeous (I mean they all were!!) and I knew my gaydar was right! :D
I'm more of a heated rivalry person, but their song for off campus is really cute!!

I've been told filing for disability will be worthless. My wife makes way too much and we'll never be approved. But I literally cannot work and I cannot receive the benefits I need without being legally disabled.
My options, as I was told point blank by a social services worker, are to get divorced from my wife or "just find any kind of job you can do."
I don't even really need disability, though it would be nice to no longer struggle with the bills every month. But I think about those who do. Family members who have maxed out credit cards and are so so deep in debt because they don't have anyone to call when their car needs a repair.
I think about how doordash and other food delivery services benefit off of the vitriol currently being spewed towards those workers and how many of those people are disabled people working the only job they possibly can because they can't possibly get onto disability.
The reason this is is because they do not want us to be married. Because they believe reproduction should only take place in marriage and so they're going to actively restrict that to marriage and then bar disabled people from marriage.
Please hear us.
People have written a lot of touchy-feely pieces on this subject but I thought Iād get right to the heart of the matter

I know itās not July yet, but guys, happy 10 years of ātwo cakesā. This post on god has been a godsend not only as a writer myself but as a friend of artists and writers who I love to encourage. This was legitimately a game-changer.
OP thank you so much for this.

quick mention to these mutuals we have who we don't necessarily speak to but we see in our notifications and smile. yeah they are like the kind and polite neighbours you don't know anything about but each time you cross their path in the stairs or in the hallway you nod and smile in appreciation. you hold the door for them. and if they need eggs or sugar or a whatever, they know they can knock on your door because you'll answer and gladly help them out. that's what neighbours are for. yeah shout out to these mutuals. i love you

ābits to use in everyday conversationsā
Granola recipe
I posted this recipe to Livejournal a million years ago, and luckily I gave it a very distinctive title so I can still google it now to find it. However, I'm guessing either the baking community or LJ itself won't be around forever, so I'm copying it here as a backup (yes, I've also sent it to the wayback machine):
Ingredients (all amounts are approximate):
4 cups old-fashioned oats
1 cup chopped or sliced nuts (almonds in this batch, I've also tried cashews)
1/2 cup ground flax seed
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 Tbsp (or more) cinnamon
Other spices to taste - I often throw in ginger and nutmeg
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup + 2 Tbsp honey
1/2-1 tsp vanilla
1-2 cups dried fruit, chopped if needed (dried cranberries and apples shown here)
1. Preheat oven to 375. In a big bowl, mix the oatmeal, nuts, flax seed, brown sugar, spices, and salt.
2. In a small pot, heat the olive oil, honey, and vanilla until warm and easily pourable.
3. Pour the wet ingredients over the dry and mix until the dry ingredients are well-moistened all over.
4. Spread mixture evenly in a jelly roll pan or cookie sheet.
5. Bake for 12 minutes, stirring after 5 min. Watch closely after 10 min in case your oven is a bit different from mine b/c the edges can burn easily - you'll smell the burning before you can see it. It should be a nice golden brown all over when done. If you don't want to risk burning, it can be baked at a lower temp for longer, I just like getting it done quickly
6. Let cool in the pan until it hardens. Break up back into the bowl, add in dried fruit, mix it up, and pour into a gallon ziplock for storage.
Notes: If you like your granola clumpy like I do, they keys are the honey and letting it cool in the pan. If you want to cut down on sweetness but not clumpiness, cut down the brown sugar, NOT the honey. And if you don't want your granola clumpy, only let it cool a couple minutes before pouring it back into the bowl and mixing in the fruit.
Also, note that the oils in flax seed can go rancid when not refrigerated, and cooking them can speed up this process a little. This size batch lasts me 1-1.5 weeks and I have never had a problem with this, but if you want to make big batches that last longer than that you may want to cut out the flax and instead sprinkle a tablespoon on each bowlful of granola before you eat it.
