The Creepiest Unicorn

today my family rabbit died

he was a very very old little guy. he was dumb, difficult with food, lived in the garden and every night when it was time to get back into the house he would scratch at the door to get back in then flee when we arrived to bring him in, making us chase him for sometimes hours in the garden.

by the end, he could not jump anymore. his left eye was white with cataract. he would spend more time inside, less time running outside, chasing the pigeons, making friends with the tits. he still refused to get inside quickly.

like every pet, he was closest to my dad. they spent hours each night together, grooming each other. he had the groom easy, you just had to scratch him behind the ears to earn little licks in return.

he was the softest thing i ever touched. his favourite food was parsley. now that he cannot swiftly cut every little piece of leaf as soon as it appears, maybe any plant my mum tries to grow in the garden will survive more than a few days. we'll put parsley over his tomb.

It tastes like a pumpkin gingerbread cake! Great treat for fall and winter!
