assassin’s creed is at its best with the assassins as fundamental allies of the marginal oppressed & revolutionary. your best friends are sex workers and the unhoused and thieves and you are one of them too.
#i knowwwww having historical figures as assassins makes sense#but sometimes who they pick…and damn like all of them??#unity’s assassin leadership should have been critiqued wayyyy more#it’s interesting to see a broad shift to powerful people who oppose other powerful people#become assassins. as the Templars move from servants to leaders#monarchists to capitalists etc#but the centrism of the assassins seems to be trying to say certain powerful good people are the ones#to oppose certain powerful bad people#what made ezio an assassin was him losing his social status#and learning to be a new person through theives sex workers the underclass etc etc#assassin’s creed
