Jesus Tapdancing Christ... THIS is a good welt pocket and the people who designed Simplicity 2895 ought to be blasted well ASHAMED of themselves for the crap way THEY wanted a welt pocket made. *SNARLS*
This is how I learned to do it and a good example of what you want to see in a short form tutorial: pinning, pressing, seam finishing, good fabric handling.
I would mention that you can make the pocket facing with a small panel of your matching fabric that is visible and the rest in a lighter fabric to reduce bulk. That's a lot of denim layers for comfort.

If I ever knit, tat, or crochet something for you, just know that not only are you getting the item I made, you are also getting a piece of me. I mean that in the grandiose metaphorical sense and, unfortunately, also very literally. I apologize for the hair.

my crochet fingerless gloves all finished𧜠inspired by the beautiful delicate lace gloves i see ladies wearing in antique victorian portraiture
btw I've found these stretches from the WAK blog very helpful when knitting a lot:
Plus make sure to take breaks regularly - and stop if anything starts to hurt!
especially with gift knitting I know it can be tempting to push through it for a deadline, but it's really not worth causing long term injury. (And anyone knit-worthy should be understanding of that, imho.) Stay well :)
not putting this in the main tiger thread because i think that will jinx the glazing but the underglaze turned out cute
Tiger turned out so intact for a lil gal who I dropped immediately after taking the above picture
(she's fine now it's all glaze-glued in place)

OH I FEEL IT I FEEL THE COSMOS ⨠(More photos behind the cut of my Katamari Damacy paper illustration!)
This was my second original embroidery design! I did it in july 2020 :) By this point i was really into using cool techniques to show textures and i was very excited to try out stump work (basically crochet LOL) for the nori. I love picking techniques that really reflect the properties of something.
It's also VERY SMALL, see last photo with my glasses next to it.

So I'm cleaning vintage crochet pattern booklets and I've come across the fudge rule

I am so bad at posting here consistently but I feel like Tumblr would appreciate my best friend Fishbag (and the various creatures that live within her)
Making a teeny tiny copy of The Blue Carbuncle to hang on my Christmas tree:
Cutting out all the itty bitty pages...
Sewing them together using some rainbow thread I inherited from my grandma...
Look at how cute this is!!! Now between you and me I totally forgot to add any mull at this point which is the fabric you usually use to help attach the text block to the cover. I'm going to hope with it being so small and not for reading that I'll get away with it.
Making the covers... Grey probably isn't the most logical colour for a story with the word 'blue' in it, but the whole point of this project is to use up old scraps and so I'm a bit limited!
There are marbled endpapers which have some blue in, though...
Tiny gentlemen!
Time to leave them to dry, and I'll paint a design on the covers another day!
I planned out the design on the computer and got my cutting machine to cut it out in adhesive vinyl.
I use the vinyl as a stencil. It's sticky enough to stick to the bookcloth, but very easy to peel off when I'm finished.
I paint in acrylic, trying to be as gentle as I can to keep all the fine detail...
And here's it is once I've removed the stencil!
Tah-dah! Here is the full colleciton of tiny books so far!
