Person B: “What is?”

Person A: “How many people are lurking around here lately. Everyone usually avoids this place as if it’s cursed.”

Person B: “…You think someone found out?”

In a mess of flailing limbs, your body topples to the floor, uncoordinated and feeble. The landing hurts, but finally you can breathe clearly, lungs dragging in greedy gasps of air that you hadn’t even realised you were desperate for. It takes you quite some time to catch your breath, and by then the cold from the floor has started to sink into your body, leaving you trembling and sore.

Raising your head finally, you dazedly take in the destruction around you, feeling like you should know the reason why, but unable to piece it together properly in your mind. Finally, your eyes bring you back around to the place you had clawed your way free from, heart skipping a beat at the sight that meets you.

From here, it looked like some kind of giant flower that had been ripped open, spilling a strange pale opalescent fluid all over the floor. It’s only now that you realise that you yourself are covered in the sticky substance, body completely bare and clothing nowhere to be seen. 

Everything feels wrong about this situation, and even as you shakily manage to sit up and inspect yourself properly, you can’t help but feel like something big has changed, like you aren’t quite what you were before. Your mind drifts to what came before, the memories foggy and difficult to grasp within your sluggish mind. Briefly you remember fire and screams, then blinding pain, before darkness had started to pull you away.

“Did the A/C just break?” “No. The dragon’s awake again.”

“I’m cold-blooded, remember?”

“Oh no! I left the gummy bears in the car!”

“You’re sweaty.” “Yeah, well you caused the apocalypse.”

“Finally, some wind.” “We’re inside, where is it coming from?”

“Every time you say it’s hot, I put on another sweater.”

“Is the ground… covered in ice?”

“It’s not that hot.” “You’re right, this is only a six out of ten on the Dr. Phil scale.” “The what?”

“My shoes are literally melting into the sidewalk.” “Who’s fault is that?” “Yours!”

“Do you want to borrow my Disneyland handheld fan? It’s Star Wars.”

Darling I’m creature of chaos, filled with endless rage, fuelled by spite, and passionately driven in my desire for others to feel loved and wanted. 

This decaying world is filled with cruelty and unfathomable horrors, the likes of which only humans seem to be consistently capable of. I refuse to deny my darker tastes and characteristics, but embracing them does not mean I need to abandon my wish for others to feel joy. 

As such, I strive to encapsulate both, no matter how much they seemingly clash.

“I’ve decided I’m not going home for the holidays. I’m going to Florida. To meet my destiny.”

“It’s not my fault crime doesn’t take the holidays off, honey! I’ll be back before dinner.”

“This is the only restaurant open today, something about a mortal holiday.”

“You’ve done enough damage already.”  “I only burnt the cookies a little!”

Person A: hey person b, what are you giving me for christmas?

Person B: its a surprise.

Person A: it better not be just you, it better be something new and well thought through.

Person B: *giving person a a hug* i’m giving you my love and affection.
