Chapter one of Rest and Recovery!!

Β Β Β Β The invasion had just ended, Leo was stuck on the other side, and Casey couldnt do anything but cry. He had alresdy witnessed his Leonardo die right in front of him not even a day earlier. It hit like a train, Leo was actuallyΒ gone, and he couldnt do anything about it without letting Krang Prime back out. He knew he had to return to the others and help them, it was the least he could do after pulling the key. They probably didnt want Caseys help, but he decided that it was the best thing to do.
    He made his way to where he knew April and Splinter were, and he was terrified. He had pulled the key away, he had indirectly killed Leonardo⦠it was all his fault. He had to give the key to the others, he couldnt look at it any longer as it was just a horrible reminder of what hed done.
Β Β Β Β He expected tears and anger when he approached April, but instead he saw her and Splinter doing what looked like getting ready to leave. They didnt look sad, they look relieved, happy even. This confused Casey, Leo was gone they were smiling at him? April ran up to him and lead him over to where they were gathering their stuff.
βHey Future Boy, we are getting ready to go help the boys.βΒ
βAprilβ¦ may I ask why you look so happy? Mas-Β LeoΒ is goneβ¦ because of me.β
βOh, I guess you didnt hear the news, Leo isnt gone Casey. Apparently Mikey opened some crazy mystic portal and pulled him out!βΒ
Caseys heart sank at the word portal. It was the same thing that had killed Michelangelo in his timeline. He let out an audible sigh of relief when he realized that clearly Mikey was okay, or else April wouldnt have looked so enthusiastic.Β
Casey looked around for the fastest way to get to the turtles. He spotted a red minivan that hadnβt sustained much damage and walked over. A pair of keys were laying on the driver seat,Β huh lucky.
βComand-, uh April, there are keys to this car, we could use it to get to the turtles faster.β He called out as April and Splinter made their way over.
βGood work CJ, I donβt suppose you know how to drive though, do you?β
βuhh not really, I could try though..?β
βNah dont worry about it, I can drive, just wanted to know if they taught drivers ed in the apocalypse hehβΒ
He genuinely smiled at that, it felt good. He climbed into the passenger seat as Splinter got in the back. Splinter had spoke since Casey found them, but Casey guessed that he was just worried for his boys.Β
The car started with a low rumble and they were off to Staten Island.
