"Disabled Core is regularly having symptoms that would hospitalize someone, but never knowing when you really need to go to the ER bc it's just your normal"
By @adisabledicon on Instagram
Prodigy is about a disabled Black child named Ash who faces struggles at school, leading to their guardian angel to come down and attempt to protect them.
Though, while xer guardian angel does manage to protect them, Lis (the angel) creates a large amount of chaos in the normal everyday life of Ash, not to mention how much more common sleep paralysis is becoming for them.
With help from their friends, Ash must learn to speak up about their feelings about others,
Prodigy is a story that tackles sexual harassment and assault, racism, queerphobia, sexism, police brutality, and so much more. I want my series to speak to people who are underprivileged and have been denied their voices. I want it to be a story about overcoming trauma and healing, and realizing that getting worse can be part of the process.
Here is the link to the episode one script (TW for sexual harassment and assault, ableism, and implied police brutality)

(I kinda just want to bring more attention to this lmao)
What? You have to leave? Don’t you wanna play first?
(Ask nicely and maybe I’ll show you the pic in the post tumblr took down…. But you gotta really be nice 🥰😘)
happy disability pride month to my fellow disabled cosplayers and creators out there! 🩵
remember, there's nothing wrong with cosplaying with mobility aids! being visibly disabled shouldn't stop you from cosplaying your favorite characters!
this is my current favorite disabled/chronically ill character who is dear to me.
I started this photoshoot over a year ago. doing self-shot photos is a bit difficult and painful when you're disabled/chronically ill. but I was determined to finish this! I don't have friends to do shoots with and can't afford to hire someone to model or photograph for me. i'm a photographer, so I decided to try my best to be the model as well. when I say it was a pain, that's an understatement. it took me so long to finish this because I needed time to recover after every shoot. my camera is old and remotes dont work with it, so I have to run back and forth and pose within 10 seconds.
I have a hypermobilty disorder (hEDS) which causes dislocations/chronic pain/mobility issues, undiagnosed autoimmune (doctors not sure which yet), and and highly suspected POTS - dizziness/lightheadedness/elevated heart rate/nausea/shortness of breath/etc when i'm on my feet for too long or moving around too much. these combined, especially with also being autistic, cause a large amount of mental and physical exhaustion and stress. mobility aids help me navigate the world with my health problems easier and i'm trying to learn to not be ashamed of using them.
doing something as tedious and strenuous as a cosplay photoshoot all on your own when you're disabled/chronically ill is very difficult. but I want to share my passion with others, as well as try to do more shoots with mobility aids so I can perhaps help other disabled people feel more comfortable and confident to try or do more cosplay too!
I have some other photos as well that I still need to edit between work and appointments. please look forward to those when they come!

Hi polytrix friends!! Been wanting to post more but I am disabled and have been having an especially rough time recently so I've just been eating up the yummy content and trying to comment support when I can!!
I've seen some folks ask for fic recs so I would love to read some disabled Zoey fics while I'm recovering lying in bed or posted up on my couch!
I read one where she had POTS that I really loved but now I can't find again so if a kind soul could help me relocate that one that would be amazing as well!!!
Zoey is such a strong comfort character for me, there's so much about her that I relate to (DOWN TO THE TURTLESSSS!!! I'VE GOTTEN TO HOLD AND FEED SO MANY TURTLES IN MY LIFE I'M TRULY LIVING IT TO THE FULLEST)
& I've been seeing a lot of other disabled folks see themselves in her in their own ways and I want to share in this community!!
It's a bit late where I'm at right now but hoping other night owls/folks in other time zones will help a friend out :) cheers and hope you're all having lovely days/nights!!!
My first AO3 comment 🥹
Y'all, I got my very first AO3 comment. 🥹❤️
This means so much to me. I put a lot of thought into the disability representation in this story, especially in the chapters from the main character's perspective. As a disabled creator with cerebral palsy, I wanted to write a character whose experiences felt real and honest, while still letting them be complicated, capable, loved, and badass.
Seeing someone connect with that and tell me it resonated with them honestly makes my heart so happy. This is exactly the kind of thing I hoped the story could do when I started writing it.
I know every disabled person's experience is different, but hearing that parts of this story made someone feel seen is incredibly meaningful to me.
I'm just sitting here smiling like an idiot right now. 💜
Sometimes I feel like no one sees me unless I bleed onto the page.
Being a writer with chronic pain means I don’t always know when I’ll have energy.
But when I do...? I tend to write like i'm running out of time. Like it's the last thing holding me together. Patreon helps me do that safely, sustainably, and with heart. If you’ve ever found comfort or catharsis in my words, consider supporting, maybe?
