It's never done that before so I looked it up and turns out Roku TVs have added all sorts of creepy things in the privacy section since I last checked.

One of which being they take screenshots from what you're watching and send them to third parties to identify it.

Fucking hell! Remember when every fucking device in your life wasn't a spy implanted in your home and working against your interests to try and sell your data? Remember how nice that was??

Remember when the TV was just a tool that would play the things you plugged into it?

‼️ The only person who should have the power to decide if a piece of fiction is harming you emotionally or psychologically is you.

‼️ Any fiction you feel like you are being harmed by you can stop reading/watching/creating it at any time.

‼️ You are always in control when you are consuming or creating fiction.

‼️ Do not surrender the power to decide what fictional ideas might cause you emotional or psychological harm to other people.

‼️ No one will ever know better than you what ideas are harmful to you personally.

‼️ You cannot decide what is psychologically or emotionally harmful to another person.

‼️ Attempting to restrict the kind of fiction that people create or consume because you think it might cause them emotional or psychological harm is authoritarian.

🔹It's okay to create or engage with any fiction you want to for any reason.

🔹It's okay to enjoy any fiction for any reason.

🔹You do not need a "good" or "pure" reason to create or engage with any piece of fiction.

🔹All fiction is art.

🔹It is okay to create or engage with any art for any reason.

🔹Let yourself create, engage with, and enjoy art without feeling restricted.

🔹Fiction enriches us when we allow it to invoke any kind of emotion: joy, anger, disgust, concern, sadness, or any other emotion.

I'm tempted to just say that all of my art takes place in a universe where humans don't have arms and we have to use our feet for everything, but that would mean so many cursed images of toes holding pencils and I don't think I can bring myself to impart that upon this broken world.

Tumblr’s at it again, thanks to the new European Privacy Laws. There’s probably nobody who will read this, but it pissed me off so much that I decided to make a post about it. (Ignore the weird language mish-mash, depending on your country the language might differ.)

OK, so many of us get this screen when we try to access our dash:

Realise how the ‘OK’ button is a nice, attention-grabbing blue? If you’re like me, you’re not exactly into reading a 100 pages document and tend to just click it.

My tip? DONT. Instead click on ‘Manage Options’ right next to it:

Now you’ll see this page:

Still pretty harmless, right? That ‘Accept’ button is looking really attractive right now. Instead, click on Verwalten (Probably something like ‘Manage Options’ or something in english) and you’ll get to this page:

Now that’s not too bad, right? I just switched all the buttons to ‘off’, because I’m jealously guarding my personal information and don’t want Tumblr to go off and do who knows what with it. Looks like we’re done! But wait: There’s a SHOW option.

When we click on that one, what we will get is this:

A HUGE list with OVER 300 ENTRIES of companies that can use your data by default if you’d just clicked ‘OK’ on that very first page. Coincidence that this list is hidden that much? Me thinks not. They’re all switched on by default, but I am still a petty bitch that doesn’t want to give out her data, so I switched them all off. All 300+ of them. There is no option to switch them all off at once, and even if you disable all the options above, the companies are still switched on.
