jason being canonically Not Evil is funny but him somehow managing to use that in fights is even funnier. like the time he ragebaited essence to stab him with her "Warning: Only Use Against Evil" sword so that when she does get him, the sword is like 🤨🤨 ayo that guy is pure of heart tf are you doing and essence gets trapped in the sword as punishment

there was this lesson in high school where we were given a text and told to analyze it from the perspective of the author. why did they have this character do this, say that, wear those shoes, drive that car? and im starting to feel like a lot of people missed that day in class. just because an author writes a character a certain way, doesnt mean thats their truth. we gotta wonder why they did it that way. and when it comes to arguments against jason, it takes about five minutes to research his writers and realize they deadass just hate him. they dont try to hide it, they write him bc they hate him and they want others to hate him. because of that its not a jump to deem those comics unreliable, theyre as biased as i am in the opposite direction. why would i listen to this persons opinion of a character when moments before they explicitly told me they hated that character? sure, ill read the text and ill try my best to keep an open mind, im just ALSO gonna be aware that its written by a person who WANTS to make my opinion of this character negative. and his writers have been doing this since starlin when jason was literally a middle schooler. theres no reason to hate a middle schooler that much, and that bad writing has stacked ever since

if i see one more comic panel of bruce referring to all of the batfam without jason as the whole family i will straightup disintegrate

a character who's often justifiably angry (even if that isn't the core of who they are) but who is also often punished for that anger and is also regularly treated as if their anger is invalid; unreasonable, childish, silly, as if that anger is the only part of them that matters as if, if they get angry it means that the words they say and the arguments they level don't matter anymore because they're based in emotion, a character whose problems with authority are mocked instead of understood and interrogated, a character who's always in the wrong when they argue with their father or their siblings and who deserves every bad thing that happened to them, a character who's just a little too much like a question no one in his story wants answered
