So I’ve seen a lot of those “dick hates Talia” fics and posts and I just wanna know if that actually canon or not? Cuz I only recently started reading comics. (Also could u recc the arc/comic where this stemmed from?)
Ah, yes. Talia and Dick have a fun relationship in that they can’t stand each other lol. Dick has a tendency to talk shit to al Ghuls [x], and Talia is no exception to that:

I’ve seen some of those posts you’re talking about myself, and people have Dick hating Talia because of her treatment of Bruce/Damian? Which is fair if you’re looking at Morrison’s Talia, where Talia has been stripped of all her redeeming qualities, is a horrible mother to Damian, and is just flat out evil really. Then yeah, Dick just straight up doesn’t like her. That Talia also tends to be very disparaging towards Dick; any respect for his skills vanishes. So that’s likely where the “Dick hates Talia” posts are coming from. I find this dynamic a bit less interesting and layered, but there you go.
Outside of that debacle though, rather than being born out of any conflict with Bruce and Damian, a lot of the animosity between Dick and Talia stems from the fact that these two just fundamentally disagree on really important things.
Like their priorities and what’s right and wrong for one thing lol. Ironically, I feel like rather than being a constant point of conflict, their shared love of Bruce/Damian is sometimes the only reason they put up with each other at all.
...though most of the time not happily.
I would say their relationship is not as simple as just pure hatred.
Like here, Dick respects Talia’s dedication to those she loves...really, he oftentimes shares her willingness to go to extreme lengths for his family. (These two have more in common than they’d like to admit.) And Talia does respect Dick to a certain extent...acknowledging him as a threat or a useful ally as the circumstances demand.
But mostly these two bicker lol. Bitter in laws all the way.
If you’re looking for some good Dick and Talia interactions, I would recommend Nightwing #140 and #144-146. It’s where I pulled a lot of the panels in for this post, and it’s their ideal dynamic I think. There’s also the really early interactions, where they still get a long like cats and dogs.
Talia is LIVING for this drama, look at her! They are both too much honestly.
