A boy you probably didnt know very well dies when you're a senior, dies in such a painful and public way, maybe youre in the cafeteria when it happens, maybe not, but this is a small town, you know him you know his name, you know the things people say about him, and he dies, he dies in school he never graduates, and he's not a football star, he doesn't get a scoreboard, but you had classes with him, probably worked in at least one group project with him, you remember his smile and the way that he died, so cruel and so horrible, you remember his name, the boy who died during lunch while people laughed, and thirty years later you learn that your daughter knows him too, you remember his name without hesitation, this boy is your daughter's friend, he's the first person to try to look after her when she was in a shitty place, and you remember him you remember him.

it’s not. this is barely disguised eugenics that they have ACKNOWLEDGED may (will) do more to harm than good for people with abnormal mental states. what else could the end result of finding a “mental illness gene” be than a reason to further marginalize those who are already marginalized, already branded as more likely to be (or even inherently) “mentally ill” and eventually discourage them to reproduce, either by coercion or force?

Given where these hardships cluster most intensely, it is extremely useful to white supremacy and eugenics to have a "scientific" method of proving that pathology is more common among "degenerate" populations.
