In order for trans people to get better healthcare they have to be honest about how medical transition is affecting their bodies, but they can't, because being honest also means being potentially negative about transition, and that's transphobic!
So they're just stuck with shitty healthcare out of fear of stopping other people from accessing the same shitty healthcare.
I think the problem is that admitting transition isn't effective in treating gender dysphoria would open up a whole can of worms, both individually and socially. Individually, you'd have to deal with people who started hormone therapy in their tweens or teens who can't admit to themselves that they haven't gotten any better and that they've destroyed their health for nothing. You'd have to deal with parents who thought they were doing what was right for their kids but just contributed to their declining health.
Socially, someone on hormones for the rest of their lives and constantly getting under the knives due to complications from previous surgeries is a lot more profitable than someone getting a decade of therapy and antidepressants.
Admitting that transitioning a child is objectively just medical malpractice would mean admitting that doctors have spent the last two decades operating experimental surgeries and prescribing medications without having enough data or research to be certain that it wouldn't harm patients. Psychiatry, and specifically US psychiatry, has been using your kids like lab mice.
Sooner or later a few doctors with a conscience and intelligence will question it, it always happens. But I think many other kids will have to endure senseless and useless suffering before that happens.
