"Forbidden Forest and Hogwarts used to be a sacred site for a worshipped eldritch horror" subplot, which started with Samhain and will be unravelled once we return to Hogwarts after Yule. This ties into the larger plotline for honeyed garlic alliums

Yule plotline ties in larger things which will happen in the sequel (they'll be returning to the mausoleum!!)

Like sure, they probably did talk about politics and dark magic alongside doing Transfiguration homework but only in that snobby and shallow way all private school boys do.

i think there are complexities of sirius black and walburga relationship. i don't think it was all abuse. i think he loved his mother at some point and that's why he hated her so much, but also why (and i saw another post talk about this) he withdrew to HER room when he was upset

and furthermore, why she did not destroy his bedroom. i know like, yap yap yap, he put permanent sticking charms on the posters. but is it not poetic if she kept it as a shrine to the son she lost?

think about the complexities this would add to the walburga-regulus dynamics too. the older son who always rebelled but no matter how far he strayed, his room was always kept ready for him to return to. the resentment. the jealousy.
