I don’t like raw apples but I like them cooked so I’ve experimented a bit. I learned that in medieval Europe people used to put apples in like pottage and soup and whatnot so I tried putting them in soup and they’re pretty good. They make the soup slightly sweet. I basically chop them up in little pieces and sweat them like an onion. Pretty good in chicken soup.

#in high school i volunteered for a summer at a local aquarium and it had a very chunky blue-tongued skink as one of their exhibits #and i got to hear the story of the aquarium's first and only animal escape #basically one of the biologists let the skink out of its enclosure to roam the land animals room #and he had to take his eyes off of it to deal with a flipped-over tortoise. he turns back around: skink is missing #entire building goes on lockdown to locate and re-enclose the skink #now if you have ever seen a blue-tongued skink in person: they are not small. this one was easily 18 inches long and 5 inches wide #it took them two hours to find the damned thing. it had managed to climb under a maintenance panel and was chilling underneath the floor #took another 30 minutes to extract the critter and get it back in its habitat lmfao #lizards. man

look i’m just saying, even as educated as frodo is, would he really KNOW the true name of sauron? like shit, of any of the elves left in middle earth by the time the events of LotR actually happen, only círdan and galadriel are old enough to remember that sauron existed in valinor (not counting old sindarin/avari elves because iirc sauron was never called mairon on the shores of ara [except possibly by melkor wink wonk]), let alone what his name was. so to everyone in ME, he’s always been sauron, and there’s no connection to “precious” in any linguistic sense… but mairon remembers.

the problem with movie remakes is that they always remake something that was already good, meaning at worst you ruin it and at best your remake is largely redundant. to make a truly good remake you need to start with source material that is absolute dogwater. ignore the pull of nostalgia. redeem the sins of moviemaking past.
