This scene is so important because Dean is used to hearing these words from the people he loves and who love him, but he never actually believes them! He thinks they speak out of their love for him, but this can’t be the case, right? He knows that Crowley is definitely not a “friend”, but he has also just realised that he lied to him in order to get what he wanted… Now that he got that, what would be the point of lying? Why would he say that? Simply because it’s the truth, and Dean needs to accept it, which is why I’m so happy he got to hear this again. Even from Crowley. Especially from Crowley.
