as of today june 11, 2021 the covid situation in south korea is worse than it ever has been and it's entirely the US government's fault. they won't control their military personnel who r exempt from south korean law and they won't let south korea keep restricting travel from the US when americans are the ones going clubbing and going to bars and not wearing masks in big groups on the street. koreans aren't allowed to gather in groups larger than 3 after 6pm and we're on level 4 social distancing for the first time and there's americans flooding seoul for their "post pandemic" vacation. the US wrecked moon jaein's plans to vaccinate everyone by march 2021 and cut off our vaccination supply and set south korea back to square 1 and they're competing for vaccine supplies now so no one under the age of 31 or something is vaccinated there's never been this many people with positive tests and outbreaks happening in big shopping malls the government was doing so well and as soon as the US decides the pandemic is over people are dying again

This. I was stationed in Seoul for a year in 2011 and assuming nothing about the military has changed, OP is being generous. The US military is already responsible for a significant amount of violent crime in South Korea and service members have always treated going off base like a free-for-all. I can't imagine the impact those flippant assholes are having right now. One of the many reasons US occupation should be considered unlawful.
