âWe do not want to become the fourth wife of a 60-year-old man, existing solely for his whim and pleasure.â A couple of the 15,000 Afghan women who took up arms with the Red Army against the Mujahideen. 1989
Talk about missing the point entirely.
Women arenât going on a sex strike because they dislike Trump. Theyâre doing it because some of his most ardent right wing supporters tweet things like âyour body, my choice,â and arenât even pretending to see women are human beings anymore.
Why should any woman have sex with somebody who sees them as nothing more than an incubator?
But what should I expect from a right wing trash rag?
4B isnât a sex strike. Itâs a strike against having anything to do with men at all.
This isnât a âstop having casual sexâ movement. Itâs also a donât get married, donât date men, and donât have children movement.
And as for the claims itâs transphobic. Well you can see for yourself the kind of person that tries that shit.
That first comment is a perfect example of why your political beliefs need to be more thoughtful than "the opposite of whatever my conservative christian parents think must be good." Because, putting aside the obvious pornbrained misogyny for a second (no one is using abortion as a primary form of birth control; it's expensive and very unpleasant), I have seen the argument that "4b is conservative because it's encouraging women not to have sex before marriage!" And first, as Pineapple said, no it's not--it's encouraging women to reject men altogether. Being married won't save you from dying in childbirth and plenty of married men voted for Trump.
But even if it was, why would that matter? Even if the idea of a sex strike was conservative, would you go get pregnant and die in an anti-abortion state just to own the alt-right? Stop worrying so much whether feminists are "siding with conservatives" (we're not, btw; there's a big difference between "having sex before marriage lowers your worth as a female" and "having sex with men is unsafe in places where abortion is banned") and worry more about protecting yourself from men who would gladly risk your life to ensure their own sexual pleasure.
And regarding the "transphobia" accusations. If someone claims that your refusing to fuck/date/marry/have kids with them is a hateful violation of their rights, please ask yourself what rights they think they're entitled to.
You know that old clichĂŠ "if you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything"? Y'all have got to learn to critically examine the things you're supporting so you stop being so easy to manipulate.

my heart bleeds everyday for the afghan girls and women. they are housebound and have to cover themselves up from top to bottom because they have to "avoid temptation or seduction". they are not allowed to speak in public or appear in public because it is deemed "too intimate." the women canât look at men. suicide rates have skyrocketed because women and girls would rather be dead than to be a women in afghanistan. itâs not a sin to be a women.
women and girls are denied access to healthcare because they cannot be treated by male doctors, yet they are also barred from education and, therefore, cannot become doctors themselves. shops in afghanistan are even forced to cover up female mannequins. little girls live in fear of becoming child brides, but they dream of being poets, they would kill to get education.
a woman was disqualified from the olympics because she spread the message "free afghan women" at her breakdance performance. there must always be a relative male by their side like women were dogs being treated by their owner, except dogs have more rights than the women suffering.
we must raise awareness, do not look away. these women deserve the opportunities and the human rights that EVERY person does. they are talented, creative and intelligent but men are so scared. scared of women. the taliban tries to erase women. iâm sick. remember: itâs not islam or "just their culture", it is the radical government that feels threatened by women. do not look away.
The dilemma that many black women face: having to combat both racism and sexism.
Just saying that when these token black boys attempt to other themselves from black people they usually target black women to degrade and stereotype. Many of them are complicit in the abusive treatment black girls face in majority white schools.
I am profoundly unsurprised. đ
Something a lot of non black people donât understand is that the reason black boys fit in better is because they are taught to look out for themselves and only themselves. Black women were raised to destroy ourselves for the community while black men were told itâs okay to destroy the community if it benefits them. This is why we have such a massive single mother problem, black men are told itâs okay for them to abandon their children and create dysfunctional gender dynamics in black communities. Why? Because it allowed them to roleplay as Sultans and enjoy unrestricted sexual freedom.
Issues like this are why black womanists/feminists are starting a movement to help young black women develop a sense of self preservation skills. Many of us have opened our eyes to this fact but far too many black girls are still in the dark. This is what black women mean when weâre talking about intersectionality and why many are taking the âwoman first, black secondâ approach to their indentity.
ALL THIS!!! ^^^^^^^
Most Black women donât have a desire to be white or to be in white spaces. Weâre just not swayed by the allure that Black men have, which is proximity to whiteness.
Also, y'all ever notice how itâs perfectly okay for a Black man to be ghetto? People (mostly non-Blacks) admire it, even drool at the image and think itâs cool. But when a Black woman is ghetto, chile, itâs like how dare she?! Now all of a sudden sheâs a hoodrat, sheâs ratchet, she doesnât have any class, and they are disgusted by it. âGhettonessâ is only acceptable if youâre a man, itâs not âladylikeâ on a Black woman.
was looking up 50s fashion for writing reasons and i CANNOT get over the outfits these girls are rocking
- This is bobby soxer fashion that originated in the 1940s, not 50s. Specifically, this 2016 Tumblr post attributes this photo to Life magazine in 1947
- The style was not considered masculine in its time (for commenters remarking on crossdressing laws); pants had been mainstream womenâs fashion since the 30s and especially during WWII due to women in factory work. This was an extremely popular style associated with fans of popular music performers like Frank Sinatra. It was a teenage style in particular; the 40s saw the number of girls attending secondary school rise substantially, as did the number of teens with disposable incomes.
Itâs fascinating to me that people under 30 are looking at very trendy look today and seeing gender nonconformity. It says more about what we consider âfeminineâ clothing to be today (Revealing? Low necklines? Translucent? Form-fitting? Curve-enhancing?) than the image itself.
so when louis meowed how did he share that to daniel in the interview? did he sit at his 10 foot long divorce table with armand on the other end, look him in the eye and meow?? how did it go down louis I just wanna know

Good news: Represention
Bad news: you're only being represented in whatever freaked out weirdo sex shit white liberals are obsessed with at the moment
It is I, the promiscous one-legged black traditional muslim who has a multitude of polygamous dynamics but doesn't depend on the relationship escalator to express my commitment
I was friends (not close, but friends) with a muslim Palestinian refugee woman in undergrad and she was kind of like this except by "not depending on the relationship escalator" I mean she was in a consensual arranged engagement to her first cousin. She also wasnt an amputee and probably would have laughed at the idea of polyamourous as a concept. Yall have got to TALK TO people who are different than you . Also when ever have hijabi women not be religious enough to have "multiple relationships" are you living in reality
The fact that you feel the need to announce you once knew a Muslim woman is exactly the kind of Diversity-Maxxing attitude behind the creation of these ridiculous infographics.
Notice how the random Muslim woman you knew was not an amputee, nor was she solo poly but you still felt the need to trot the memory of her out in relation to this random bullshit-as though you're recalling seeing a meerkat that one time you were on Safari.
Like what the fuck is the correlation.
Video essayists are doing gender calculus now. Very interesting!
As her story has emerged, she has become a symbol of courage and resilience.
Nearly every day since 2 September, Gisèle Pelicot has been at the centre of a trial in which 51 men are accused of raping her, including the man she was married to for 50 years.
As her story has rippled through France since the trial began, she has become a symbol of courage and resilience.
âI was sacrificed on the altar of vice,â she said, explaining how she had learned that Dominique Pelicot had drugged her to sleep and recruited men to treat her âlike a rag dollâ for over 10 years.
Unsettling details of the defendantsâ pasts, psyches and alleged crimes have filled the airwaves, news websites and social networks.
This kind of access has only become possible because Gisèle has waived her right to anonymity.
When she walks into the courthouse in the French city of Avignon, flanked by her children and a team of lawyers, Gisèle Pelicot cuts an unassuming figure.
The 72-year-old mother and grandmother, her hair styled into a neat bob, wears colourful dresses and Breton tops. She looks down as she passes the dozens of journalists gathered by the entrance, her eyes hidden by round-framed sunglasses.
Behind them, as she has put it, lies a âfield of ruinsâ.
The trial, due to run until December, has so far heard evidence from lawyers, police, psychiatrists, and from another woman whose husband drugged and raped her following instructions by Dominique.
The Pelicotsâ daughter, Caroline, who believes her father abused her when she was unconscious, has also taken the stand.
Dominique Pelicot has admitted the charges against him, although he denies abusing his daughter.
Unsettling details of the defendantsâ pasts, psyches and alleged crimes have filled the airwaves, news websites and social networks.
This kind of access has only become possible because Gisèle has waived her right to anonymity.
In a case of such magnitude it is an unusual decision, not least because it means thousands of videos of the alleged rapes filmed by Dominique Pelicot - in some cases surreptitiously - will eventually be played in open court.
Gisèleâs only request was that her children be allowed to leave the room when that happens.
Her legal team said opening up the trial would shift the âshameâ back on to the accused.
Above all, the case has ignited a painful â and often uncomfortable â discussion about rape that many in France say is long overdue.
Protests were due to be held across the country on Saturday âin support of Gisèle Pelicot and of all rape victimsâ.
When Gisèle gave evidence that she had to âstart over from scratchâ and was now only living off a small pension, an influencer set up an online collection that made âŹ40,000 (ÂŁ33,700) in under a day. It was quickly shut down following a request from Gisèleâs legal team, who saw it as a possible distraction.
One key issue this case has thrown up is the little-discussed phenomenon of chemical submission â drug-induced assault in the home.
In 2022, 1,229 people in France suspected they had been drugged without their knowledge, according to Leila Chaouachi, a pharmacist at the Paris addiction monitoring centre and an expert on drug rape.
That number is probably âonly the tip of the icebergâ, she believes. Victims often hesitate to file legal complaints because they know the assailant, they might be ashamed, or they have hazy memories of what happened.
For the 10 years her husband was drugging her, Gisèle Pelicot had unexplained neurological symptoms as well as gynaecological issues, and yet no-one put the clues together.
What has shocked so many in France is the sheer number of men involved in the case.
Police were only able to identify 50 suspects out of the 83 that appeared in Dominique Pelicotâs videos.
Their ages range from 26 to 68 and they hail from all walks of life - firefighters, pharmacists, labourers and journalists. Many are fathers and husbands.
Of the other men accused, 15 admit rape, but all the others admit only to taking part in sexual acts.
âWhat shocked me even more is that so many men could have done this - more than 50 ânormalâ men, who all lived nearby,â said Caroline, a 43-year-old doctor from Paris.
"It demolishes the myth of the rapist who is a psychopath⌠they raped because they were sure of their impunity.â
Another concern that has not escaped the large numbers of women across France who are following the Pelicot case is that many other men knew and did nothing.
Dominique Pelicot had invited men to have sex with his wife âwithout her knowledgeâ in a post on the Coco.gg website, which was shut down only last June. Last year it counted 500,000 visitors a month.
âOne hundred per cent of these people⌠never made a phone call to stop this abuse,â says CĂŠline Piques. âNot one man thought about informing the police of these criminal facts.â
had a bad low blood pressure moment last night and messily asked my partner for saltines and water before realizing i should probably ask for the Blood Pressure Medication I Need To Take. while they went to go grab it though i still had water and crackers so in a daze i took a swig of water but didnt swallow and then tried to cram 2 saltines in my mouth. full of water. in bed. with mouth full of water

TIL, the residents of Cheran, Mexico armed themselves and kicked out the ruling cartel as well as every politician and policeman. It now functions as a legal self-governing indigenous community with a crime rate near 0%
via reddit.com
đ
Specifically, it was indigenous women who freed their village from oppressive forces. From loggers to kidnappers to police, all of them were run out because these women armed (and masked) themselves, took hostages, and threatened to kill them.
Since this day, five years ago, theyâve begun to repair the forest that was destroyed by loggers over the decades. Theyâve successfully revived 3000 acres! And because there is no more crime, all citizens feel save roaming the streets at night, and exploring the vast forest theyâve become responsible for.
I went looking for an update since itâs now 8 years from the uprising, and it appears things are still going very well for the community. In fact, theyâve been steadily improving:Â https://www.latimes.com/food/story/2019-10-07/mushrooms-cheran-mexico-indigenous-revolution
âThey taught their neighbors to grind onions and guajillo chiles into thick, warming stews called atapakuas and young men to make tortillas by hand, a task historically seen as womenâs work. The movement represented a return to certain traditions but, led by women and young people, also meant clearing space for new voices and attitudes.â Â
