crazy how you can get used to working around problems that have very easy fixes. for like 6 months we used a hand towel to jam a kitchen cabinet closed because the hinges were broken and it turns out fixing it took me like $5 and 20 minutes. bedroom door has been squeaky for years and all it needed was a lil wd40. im sure this can apply to mental health too but i wouldnt know about all that.

On May 15 2026, Yves Sakila, a Congolese-born 35-year-old man living in Ireland, was murdered by security guards outside a department store who restrained him to death on Henry Street, Dublin.
Sakila became unresponsive while restrained and was later pronounced dead. A video of the incident, circulating on social media, shows Sakila being held down on the ground for almost five minutes, during which time one person appears to kneel on his head or neck. Six years after George Floyd and Breonna Taylor its clear that things are much worse. My heart goes out to his family and his people.
anyway every time i post about ocd people start tagging the post like "wait this isn't normal?" and i always like to remind people that intrusive thoughts are normal. pretty much everyone experiences them. "what if i jumped off this balcony?" "what if i crashed my car right now for no reason?" "what if i yelled a curse word in the middle of this wedding?" everyone thinks these things from time to time. it's disordered thinking when the distress starts becoming intolerable.
"am i normal" is not as helpful question to ask as "are intrusive thoughts causing me frequent distress?" and "would my life be better if i could find a way to feel less distress/learn to tolerate the distress?"
millions and millions of people have ocd. having ocd is normal. you're normal. but what if you could feel better? what if living everyday in your own mind and body could be tolerable? is that something you want? need? these are questions to ask.

This American White Pelican was rescued down weak and unable to stand on the side of US1 at Shark Key on May 31st. The patient had a high parasite count and has responded well to hydrotherapy in our clinic. Able to stand now, the White Pelican is recovering rapidly and working towards release.

Can everyone who makes video content do a Deaf bitch a favor? Watch your shit with the captions on and the sound off, and then do another round of editing to fix things including but not limited to:
Captions cover the spot on the screen you put the information I need
The dialogue is captioned but not the song you have playing that the dialogue is responding to
You only captioned the person on the screen, not the person off screen who is also talking
No captioning of critical sound effects (alarms, bells, dogs barking, etc)
Speakers are not labelled at moments where it is not clear on the screen who is talking.
Captions cover the spot on the screen that you put the information I need!
