No, I would not steal a car. However, if I had the ability to create a copy of someone's car that I could have for free while the other person retained their original car, I would definitely do that.

Genuinely, one of the measures that's stopped book banning the most when districts implement it, is having the would-be banners fill out a form that demonstrates if they've read the book or not. Like where they have the summarize the plot and characters and do a mini book report and give a review. It stops them in their tracks. This is why in my high school, every time someone wanted to ban a book it ended up going nowhere. There was one where a conservative student wanted to ban the manga "Legal Drug" for having a marijuana leaf on the cover, then got the form that required them to actually read and either balked, or read it and realized it was not pro-drug at all. (The other one that reduces book bans even further is "requiring the would-be banner to be affiliated with this actual school in some way, either by being a student, faculty/staff or a parent of a child at the school" because the vast majority of bans are "activists" with no affiliation with the school who just travel around trying to do this in districts all over the U.S. IIRC a few years ago someone crunched the numbers and just 51 parents were responsible for all the book bans that year nationally. 51! In a country with 50 states, with over 300 million people total!)
the fact that these reactionary people always show literal advertising campaigns as "proof" of how people were happier in the past; like...I get that media literacy is, to put it mildly, not a conservative strong suit, but damn
just saw another annoying af post that reduced full time wheelchair use to an ‘easy, simple’ disability. hello? can anyone hear me? full time wheelchair use is being physically unable to enter half the buildings on the street, being unable to evacuate in an emergency, spending thousands on a non-negotiable aid or else being unable to even get to the bathroom, having to rely on chairs that actively make ur health worse, needing a hoist, needing help transferring, needing a modified home and vehicle, being unable to afford or implement those mods and thus being functionally trapped, etc.
then there’s the social side of things... the way you can never opt out of looking disabled, the way strangers will push or lift you (aka kidnap u) and no one will gaf, the way ppl eternally talk to ur companion and never meet ur eye, the way ‘wheelchair’ becomes ur defining trait regardless of ur style or personality, the way ur excluded bc ur chair doesn’t fit where ppl are hanging out, the way ur directed to use the back entrance next to the trash, the way ppl mishandle the aid you can’t live without (see numerous news articles about airlines destroying wheelchairs).
plus other symptoms on top of inability to walk. i think ppl often picture full time wheelchair use as needing to sit down and nothing more, whereas there are frequently coexisting issues (many of which are invisible!) like severe pain, weakness, parasthesia, seizures, dystonia, difficulty tolerating sitting up, reliance on devices like ventilators, feeding tubes, catheters, etc. and even if someone is ‘simply’ unable to walk, there are still risks to full time wheelchair use e.g. pressure sores which can be life threatening. it is not the same as sitting in a typical chair.
tldr, being a full time wheelchair user is not simple and i have no idea how we got to a point where ppl think it is.
police departments love to be like "we need more money to fight all the crime that's been happening lately" and they show a graph with crime going up at then you look into the numbers and it's like "the ten percent increase in crime was correlated with a ten percent increase in active policing hours" and it's like oh okay so the crime factory needs more money because the crime factory stayed open late to manufacture more crime in order to convince us to give more money to the crime factory. Where can I get off this carousel of misery?

i really like this thing where websites will have separate "log in" & "sign up" buttons and if you click "log in" it takes you to a sign-up screen anyway so you have to click "i already have an account" and then it will ask if you want to sign in with your facebook account or with instagram or linkedin or deviantart or whatever, and if you choose "username & password" it asks if you want to put in your username or use your thumbprint, and once you put your username & password it emails you a confirmation code, and once you put in the code it says "do you want to give us your phone number for future sign-ins? do you want to sign up for facial recognition? do you want to give us your bones? give us your fucking bones?
Alright that’s enough from male filmmakers
