Sorry, but I'm so sick of the ambiguity around Lestat and Armand's relationship. Why do they need such kid gloves around a relationship that should have non con as a foundation when they didn't have problems with Gabriella and Magnus. And again we are back on the dumb cheating trope with Nicki. Like... Sorry for rating Nalrya, but it after touching such horrors going back and touching such a shallow trope as cheating for a twist or whatever they are doing is so annoying.

Not gonna lie, when Kara stopped Ruthye from killing that guy, I was a little confused, mostly because Kara had definitely just killed a ton of guys literally seconds ago and now she draws the line at the guy in charge? Of course then it became clear as the scene continued on that Kara never cared about whether this guy lived or died. It was Ruthye she was trying to save. But that was true the whole movie, wasn't it? And when she stopped Ruthye from becoming a killer, only to take on the burden herself because that was the kindest thing Kara could have done in that moment? Oof. That hit hard. It was such an emotionally satisfying scene on so many levels. I loved it.
Also The Middle cover in the fight scene was awesome people are just mean or they don't see the vision. But I DO. I SEE THE VISION.

I don't know how to express this without sounding like a wanker, but IMO this show's biggest tragedy is that much of the audience it ended up attracting wasn't meant for it. This season in particular feels so experimental, arthouse, and more gothic horror and mindfuck-y than ever before while also creatively genre-bending, but it's being wasted on fans who came here for a conventional MLM vampire romance period drama.
It's like, Hannibal fans who got recced the series all got it, IMO, from what I've seen. Because both shows, at heart, are basically the same base genre, gothic horror.
But it kind of stopped there IMO. Because then you have those who came into this show expecting it to be like Twilight or The Vampire Diaries and couldn't adjust to that not being the case, and so are forever fixated on the shipping aspects and only that -- because that is what things like TVD and Twilight centered their stories around.
In fact, before S2 aired, the showrunner was doing interviews explicitly saying this show would never go in the direction of Twilight or TVD:

And then, this year, came the HR fans, who, even more people than I have said, were led astray by anyone who recced them IWTVL as if they were the same thing just because both shows had queer love stories in them. 🤦🏾♀️
None of these groups of fans, IMO, is prepared for where this story is headed, and what it will be doing, if this season is hard for them to understand.
I do like those who've decided to actually take a chance in understanding something that might have been outside what they are used to or initially expected, however. I'll never knock anyone for truly giving something a chance and trying to understand it.
But those who are just complaining because the show isn't what, at this point, they told themselves it was? They should just drop the show already. It's obviously not for you, so why keep bothering? Things aren't going to change on that front, and the showrunner/writers/cast have never hidden that.
