Have you also seen fans getting way too parasocial about Assad in a very annoying way?
There was a TikTok from TV guide earlier today where a journalist asked the cast what they listened to for inspiration. All of them answered with at least one song or band apart from Assad just said "no" and told her to be patient. Which is okay, he's allowed to keep that private. But the way his fans are reacting to it is so insane!
They're accusing the journalist of "relentlessly harassing him to reveal his playlist when he's said no so many times," someone said to keep white interviewers away from him, people were saying he should have been ruder to her and tagged the account to say they obviously have no respect for Assad and should apologize to him. Do they want him to get a reputation for having obsessive fans? They're acting crazy! He's not a child who needs protection from being asked questions by journalists 🙄
TV guide asked everybody in the cast the exact same question which makes perfect sense since the season is all about music. It was only Assad who had a problem with it.
You can't expect the journalists to watch every interview with every cast member before coming up with some quick questions to provide soundbites for their socials. I feel bad for these journalists and interviewers who are just trying to do their job.
I think Assad is a talented actor but his fans are becoming insufferable and it will cause a backlash for him if they don't learn to relax.
Assad's fans have always been too parasocial about him, I'd argue. Like, this has been ongoing.
He's a grown man, not some woobified child, and he established a boundary there, probably because he did not want to give something away.
The red carpet press tour is part of his job, and asking questions part of the journalist's job. There is nothing nefarious about it.
